View Full Version : Buffering, buffering, buffering
Clearly the bandwidth/streaming was an issue tonight from Culver City.
Many of you were unable to hear the show and that just sucks.
I will spend the next few hours cutting it up and putting it into a shoutcast stream for you to catch it.
We learned alot from this show and will be reformatting it to include some live online games being played by people in the studio with us. Make it more like we're all hanging out, playing games, sufing the net, and listening to the radio.
The show will not be streamed live once it's on radio so people can listen and play without any connectivity issues. The interviews have to be shorter. I need to pick my questions carefully and move people along better. (what me long winded?)
Anyhow, thank you all so much for helping it come together. The feedback in chat was helpful and frustrating as I knew many of you were having connection problems.
Stay tuned for the date of the next show.

It was cool despite the buffering issues, Once it gets on radio, It would be great, But, Not many of the listeners will be able to hear the show if its broadcast in a station that we don't receive locally, However, There are many stations out there who broadcast there station online, Many AM stations broadcast there live shows on the net, So maybe we can still hear the show live on the net as well as download an mp3 of the full archive of it.

Sadly I couldn't wait around for the show stream to get fixed. I was getting 1 minute buffered clips of the show for the first hour and had to log off as it was 4am over here!!!
I hope you do fix the stream for the next broadcast. I'd also like to see the show on a Podcast and on 'netcast as most major radio stations now broadcast over the 'net also. This includes the BBC :)

Well when I was listening to you when I called in it sounded good. That all I can really say, because when I listened to the stream it sounded *buffer*
It worked fine for me for the short time I was listening.

I heard bits a pieces of the Cliffy B article. From what I heard it was good. Will you be releasing a podcast version?

...So maybe we can still hear the show live on the net as well as download an mp3 of the full archive of it.Hopefully this can be an option. I don't hold out much hope for my local stations and I get lousey reception on the one station I think would carry it.

Contentwise the show was great Scot. I really enjoyed being part of the community again. It's been too long since I had the old Gametime "hanging out with your friends" feeling.
I'm not concerned about the buffering......you'll figure it out. Just like you did for Gametime and Damn.
Thanks for pulling everyone back together again.......
Here's wishing you great success with the show........KUDOS.

Im glad to see it wasn't just me. I thought my computer was on the fritz or something.
Anywho, the parts I caught were great, and for the first show, I was glad to be apart of it.

It was like Mystery Science Theater 3000 in a way, and we would all talk as soon as the show went into buffer ;-), it was commentary, if only we could record it :-(

It was Mystery Science Radio 2005.
It played pretty well for me, well what I caught of the show. I was using MusicMatch Jukebox player.
