Well Bryan Singer has gone to the new Superman project and left X-Men 3. I am very worried about it now and wonder if what they are going to do about it. Halle Berry is also complaining that Storm doesn't have a big enough part so she isn't signing on with the project. I had some high hopes for this movie after the first two turned out being really enjoyable, but now I think it could go horribly wrong.

I did this awhile ago, and thought it would be good to be applied here.

The List-Who Should Direct X-Men 3 Now That Singer Is Out

-Ben Affleck: I Killed My Lesbian Wife, Hung Her on a Meat Hook, and Now I Have a Three-Picture Deal at Disney was fucking brilliant, he should also be the co-writer with Matt Damon.
-Paul Thomas Anderson: He needs to make a big-budget debut and this would be good.
-Darren Aronofsky: Why not? Seriously, he is this generation's most underrated director. He can direct great sci-fi and could direct great stories with many characters. He would do a damn fine job and he needs money and attention.
-Shari Springer Berman, Robert Pulcini: American Splendor was really, really, really, really good and they would make this a really good movie.
-Danny Boyle: He is a really good and extremely versatile director.
-Brad Bird: He can do a damn fine job at making a superhero film.
-James Cameron: This would be perfect for his return to normal film.
-Sylvain Chomet: The Triplets of Belleville was a fucking amazing surreal animation experience.
-Sandy Collora: This guy is psychomaniac fan when it comes to comic books, he needs to direct a comic book adaptation, really he does.
-Francis Ford Coppola: He is one of the greatest directors of all-time.
-Cameron Crowe: He can direct timeless comedies, I wonder if he could do the same for sci-fi.
-Antoine Fuqua: I would love to see him bring his unique style to the superhero genre.
-Michel Goundry: He can make amazing, fucking superb surreal sci-fi films, his style would be interesting when applied to the superhero genre.
-Peter Jackson: He can't make a bad film.
-Mike Judge: I can't describe how fucking brialliant Office Space is, and he needs to make more films.
-Richard Kelly: He would do an amazing job, Donnie Darko was fucking amazing.
-Jonathan Kesselman: This guy is a fucking visionary, he would make an all-time classic that will reign the throne for eternity. What the fuck did I just say, I have no clue.
-Spike Lee, Malcolm D. Lee: They would team up and save the world from evil villians and make a fucking awesome film while doing it.
-Sam Mendes: I just want him to do something unconventional for his taste like this, he is a really good director and that is always a plus.
-Alex Proyas: He proved he is great at directing big-budget films with I, Robot and I would love to see him do this.
-Ridley Scott: He is fucking brilliant and would make an amazing film.
-Kevin Smith: He would do an amazing job, how could he fuck up a comic book adaptation, it's not possible.
-Stephen Sommers*: He wouldn't direct the film or do anything for the film, but he would bring his amazing Stephen Sommers-ness to the behind-the-scenes documentries for the film.
-Steven Spielberg: The greatest director of all-time would make another superb film.
-David Twohy: This guy is an amazing and extremely underrated sci-fi director, he would make a great superhero film.
-Gus Van Sant: He is an amazing director, and I don't doubt he would do this film justice.

This franchise has had SO many people ready to shoot that I won't believe anything until the cameras are rolling. What's the list so far? Tim Burton, McG, Michael Bay, and I know I'm leaving out a lot more.

They should get Richard Donner to direct it, After all, His wife is the one whose producer for the first 2 X-Men movies, Personally, I think he would be a great choice to direct X3 since he did such a massive job on the first Superman movie.

Bryan Singer Makes the Move to WB Source: Variety Friday, August 6, 2004

Variety reports that "X-Men" series director Bryan Singer is making the move to Warner Bros. Pictures for a production deal now that 20th Century Fox has ended his first-look deal.

In March, Singer pacted with WB to direct a remake of "Logan's Run." Then in July, Singer's representatives ended longstanding talks with Fox for Singer to helm X-Men 3 and quickly completed negotiations with Warner Bros. for him to replace McG on Superman.

Eager to quickly move the movie into production, WB went so far as to make a pay-or-play offer to Singer if he'd consent to make Superman fly post-haste, says the trade. He took it, and Fox soon notified him that his deal there was over.

Who will direct X-Men 3 for Fox remains unclear, as does its potential start date. The trade adds that Singer would be happy to be involved with the third film even if only as a producer, but the ball is in Fox's court.

-Kevin Smith: He would do an amazing job, how could he fuck up a comic book adaptation, it's not possible.
Smith was afraid of directing the freaking Green Hornet.

"I think the way around it is just not to direct it because otherwise I'm going to have to recant, and fuck that! Honestly, I signed on to 'Green Hornet' to write and direct it at a time where I don't know what I was thinking. I was just like, "Someone wants to give me a comic book movie? Wow."

"But now I would like to write it but I don't know about directing, because a) I'm too lazy to direct an action movie but b) I never got into this business to make a movie like that...I don't know if I have an action movie in me."

Doesn't sound like someone I want directing X3, or any comic book movie.

Kevin Smith has also said in an interview about the difference between directing Superman & directing The Green Hornet is that he has fewer people to answer to. With Superman he has himself, the producer, the studio, the fans(huge fan base he emphasised), the writer, the creator, the exec producer, etc. Whereas on The Green Hornet he felt less preasure, he felt the fan base was small enough on the Green Hornet that if he fucked something up it would not be as bad. That he would only have to answer to himself, the studio & the producer. (this was an interview he gave to TechTV on the Screen Savers prior to the merge)

It's very disappointing if Singer is not the director. It would also be a shame if the original cast doesn't all come back. I think if Singer doesn't direct, they should give it to a big name director that will at least keep the cast intact as well.

Fox officially ended their deal with Singer yesterday.

Also, rumor is that Singer is trying to get Tom Welling (the guy from Smallville) to sign on for the movie. Boy, that sucks.

While I think the guy is all right for the TV show...I just can't see him in the red and blue for the big screen.

It might end up being possibly good if they get Tom Welling, if they don't fuck it. Tom Welling needs to be Superman.

Tom Welling would be an awesome Superman, but I have read that he is only interested in staying in Smallville. I don't think he is that interested in playing the actual superhero on the big screen.

Halle Berry is also complaining that Storm doesn't have a big enough part so she isn't signing on with the project.

Ok that's just sad...she'd rather star in her own heroine feature that is absolute garbage rather than play a supporting role in something that is popular and well not a flop. Maybe she couldn't whore up X-3 so she got mad.

Maybe Halle wanted a "Monsters Ball" scene with Forge but the producers wouldn't put it in?

Im just hoping that with a new director, X-3 will still be everything that X2 was, and possibly more. I really wasnt to happy to see Singer sign off.

Singer didn't sign off, he wanted to stay with it. Fox told him no.

I seriously doubt that Bryan Singer will truly leave X3. Although it would suck if he did.
