In another thread, C0lin told me that the Viewpoint toolbar that was keeping IE from opening is Spyware. My question is this: how do I delete it? I've tried several times but it says something about being in use by another person.

You might want yo go into your control Panel then click on the Add or Remove Programs icon, Then look in the list for Viewpoint, If you see it there, Uninstall it, I thin you might also see something in there called Viewpoint Player as well, So uninstall that to.

Yup, that should do it. I had to do that the other day. It keeps showing up, but it's not hard to remove.

the viewpoint thing is something AIM always installs on your system when you install AIM for the first time, So by uninstalling the Viewpoint, You should be fine.

Oh, I didn't think about AIM doing that, but it just popped up the other day. Anyway, thanks for telling me that it's Spyware, C0lin, and thanks for telling me how to delete it, Tigerclaw.

Keep in mind, everytime you download aim updates, Viewpoint will probably be part of it.

Theres a hack called Aim Ad Hack, It's a install/patch that will download a certain version of AIM, It will install it for you and remove all the nasty stuff that aim installs like the banner ads and such, the install utility lets you sellect what you want to installed.
