View Full Version : Atlanta Thrashers need goaltending.. badly
The Lightning just thoroughly violated their rookie goalies tonight, 6-0.
Actually Berkhoel turned it on in the 3rd and made some huge saves, otherwise it could have been 10-0. Then again their offense wasn't doing much either. Only 15 shots on goal? Easy shutout for Grahame, who BTW is totally destroying Khabibulin statistically.
Kari Lehtonen needs to come back from that groin injury soon, not only to help Atlanta but to help my fantasy team.. :p
4 point night for Vincent Lecavalier. Maybe that shuts up the idiots who think he didn't deserve his new contract. Well over a point per game pace now.

It's October. It's an Atlanta sports team.
Duh.
Oh also one of your players is a cheap ass goon. Gotta love the way our coach pointed that out.
Atlanta has lost four straight games by a combined score of 22-2, but the angriest coach after the game was Tampa Bay's John Tortorella.
He directed an expletive-filled tirade at Eric Boulton, who took out Paul Ranger of the Lightning with a cheap shot just 2 1/2 minutes from the end of the rout.
"The . . . guy should be playing in the . . . East Coast Hockey League, but instead he takes out a . . . NHLer," Tortorella said. "He'll be suspended, but who . . . cares? No one wants to see him on the ice anyway."
Atlanta's Bob Hartley was seen going into Tortorella's office after the game, but the Tampa Bay coach wouldn't say what they discussed.
"None of your business," Tortorella said, before storming away to the team bus.

...Hey Burr? What happened last night?
LOL. We couldn't kill a penalty to save our lives, that's what happened. I don't know how the PK got that bad all of a sudden. We went into the game at 95% efficiency, came out out of it at 89% efficiency. If we just kill two of those penalties it would have been a win. For some reason they kept letting the Thrashers speed back them off the defense and give them plenty of room to shoot instead of harrassing the puck carrier. Gotta be aggressive. Darryl Sydor has gone from the team's best defenseman to a complete pylon, letting Hossa walk right around him for a goal. He needs to snap out of it and start being physical again.
At least you guys signed a goalie that has been in the NHL before (Shields), and Dunham should be back soon. Atlanta still has one of the best offenses in the league so they can explode like they did tonight. It's just hard to get the confidence to do that when your goalie is letting everything in back there, but looks like they're getting it back.

Bump. :p
Bolts are playing their worst hockey since the 90's right now. There's no other way to put it.
