If you're one of the lucky (or determined) few who got an Xbox 360, you can listen to The Bobby Blackwolf Show and any other podcasts very easily in any game! And you DON'T need the hard drive for it!

It's no secret that you can hook up any USB device that acts as an external drive to the Xbox 360. I've tried it with an old 20GB iPod, and it works just fine - it sees all of my playlists and ID3 tags for any unprotected file. (It can't read protected iTunes downloads.) However, you can also use a PSP or even just a USB thumbdrive for this to work!

I just listened to a few podcasts while doing part of my solo career in Project Gotham Racing 3. What you do is you hit the Big X to get to your gamercard, and go down to "Select Music". Then, it will scan for your hard drive or any connected devices. Once it detects the USB drive, you can then surf it either in iPod form, or in an explorer mode going through hard drives. Find the podcast you want, and play it! This will override the music in whatever game you're in (even those that have great original scores like Kameo) and stream it from your iPod/PSP/Thumbdrive/whatever.

The best thing about it is that it does not stop and start the song, so even when you're going through menus, it just keeps playing the audio file as is, instead of the menu music. The only downside is that there's no rewind/fast forward controls, so you can't skip to a later portion of the podcast if you've already heard the beginning.

In PGR3, I had to lower the sound effects volume in the options way down to not have the sound effects drowned out. (I had music volume at 10 and sfx volume at 3.)

Obviously, I wouldn't suggest this for any online play - use a custom playlist for that one. (And since it reads the iPod database, you can create your playlists in iTunes and sync them with your iPod - I have an "Xbox 360 Upbeat" playlist that has the tunes I want to race to in it.)

You won't be able to use the in-game interface in something like PGR3 to switch through tracks, you have to do that by hitting the Big X and using the controls on that screen.

Everyone always bashed any type of television programming about games because gamers don't want to stop playing games to watch TV about games. But now, you can listen to our show and the many other great video game podcasts WHILE playing your game.

I'm going to also try to see what we can do to get up on the Xbox Live Marketplace as a free download so you can download our MP3 directly to your hard drive if you don't have any USB devices that can work with the 360...

This has been a public service announcemnt from Me.

Speaking on this past show (X-mas show), It was a great year ender, I've really enjoyed the show since I was able to catch it on Itunes. Kropotkin and yourself do and excellent job in giving us the news each weekend. I wish for the show to get even bigger (listenner wise) and better within the next year. Keep up the good work guys! I hope I actually get to hear the live tapings more, but I actually like listening to it while surfing the net, reading Myspace pages or doing Photoshop work. Good stuff.

P.S. Loved the Christmas song haha.

"The net Cafe is where I play
Addicted to gaming, I spend my day
It's Christmas In Korea
I haven't had food for days.
Xbox Blows
And Sony's Slow
And boring Nintendo has nothing to show
The Pc's slowly dying, except for the MMO's"

Best verse in the song, lol.
