Scot, if you ever have problems with Bass Shoes, please don't call me. I couldn't take that kind of inquisition.

after listening to this all the way through, it just sounded like he actually hadn't played any(or much) games on the original xbox, and really didnt know what he was talking about. not that he was trying to hide something.
the "well if its not on xbox.com" thing was actually somewhat logical untill someone whipped out xbox magazine, then it was simply lame. and im willing to bet they pulled it from the list because of some kind of massive bug that made it unplayable.
and yea, ill pass this link arround. even though it did kindof sound like you were just giving him a hard time a few times in the call.. haha.
edit: "it seems like there just routing calls to people who live in seattle and play xbox games, he's like LOOK MAN I PLAY XBOX TOO" ahahahahhahahaha

Hey I have support calls. My original XBox is acting like a piece of crap.
It makes weird grinding noises for no reason. On new and used games.
It loads games up really slowly and in game loading is slow sometimes.
Disc read errors like you wouldn't believe. Can't recognize the disc my ass.
So hey Scot I need customer support. And hey with all that to complain about you should have a ton of fun. Heh I would also threaten to never buy any MS products again, you'll probably get free stuff. Heh a free brand new XBox or a 360 if you complain enough would be nice. :D
and even though it did kindof sound like you were just giving him a hard time a few times in the call.. haha.
I thought the same when I was first listening to the live feed, then Don turned into a dick.

Well, anyone who works in tech support should know that by the time someone is calling you, they are going to be fairly upset. I mean, they just bought your product, and it's not performing to their expectations, so you need to be able to handle a bit of angst on that end. The fact that this kid got SO smarmy there shows a serious lack of judgement for whoever hired him.

It's not Scots responsibility to be nice on the phone. Don should have said "According to the information I have, that game is not supported" and then when scot told him it was in a list earlier he should have said "That list is out dated" and in response to scot saying he should have gotten notification don should have said "I'm sorry sir, I can note in the support ticket that you feel you should get notification."
and the suction blocking he could have said "I'm sorry sir, but Madden is produced by a 3rd party. Any issues with that game should be delt with through them."

Holy crap that was hilarious!
Ps3: The Next generation doesn't start until we arrive
Microsoft: We don't have to tell YOU what's on and what's not on the list
Nintendo: We're not competeing with the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.
hmm....I tells ya, this is one very "mature" generation.....

The only one of those three statements that was actually said was Nintendo's, and you took it out of context.
PS3: The actual quote was "The next generation doesn't start until we say it does." Sure, it's a little change of the wording, and probably the most immature quote of the entire list.
Microsoft: The actual quote you're looking for is "We don't have to tell you when our list changes." Which...is very true, albiet poorly stated by a minimum wage call center worker. Whether you like it or not, Microsoft is not obliged to email everyone when they took a game off the compatability chart before the system came out. That's what I would call "spam", since it was changed before the Xbox 360 had any customers, so they would have to email everyone who had an Xbox whether they wanted an Xbox 360 or not. So a couple of print publications were behind the times since they came out after the system did, and probably had a line saying "Go to xbox.com to see any modifications" (I haven't seen the list in OXM)...Well, that's one of the bad parts of print publications.
Nintendo: This quote is correct, however it's being taken out of context. The context of the quote was dealing with the graphical capabilities. Nintendo said that they aren't competing with the graphics power of the PS3 and Xbox 360 - they've admitted to be the worst looking graphically of the three systems, and stated they're not out to compete with them in that area. I don't see how that's immature, perhaps you can fill me in on what I'm missing?

I wasn't using them in the terms of an exact quote, but I can see where you got that idea. :) I didn't know the actual words in my head, that's why I didn't put quotation marks inside.
As for Nintendo being immature, I didn't honestly mean it as such. I was just mearly comparing how it linked up with the two. I honestly couldn't think of something that Nintendo said this generation that could be immature. I didn't want to throw that idea away and say that Nintendo was the most mature company because that's not true and would make me look like a fanboy in my eyes. In all honesty, it was probably immature on my behalf to make that statement to begin with.
I do see how Microsoft is not obliged to explain to everyone that the X-box 360 backwards compatability took off a game. I understand that, and it would be hell (unless the required that all owners of the XBox 360 told microsoft their e-mail addres so that they could put all the names under one listserv and than just do that) but that would flood the fan's emails with a bunch of Microsoft news that no one reads anyway. I guess the only true answer to something like that would be, in my opinion, to keep your Xbox.
I think the real answer to this whole small debate is to almost contradict with I just said above - Don't listen to quotes or even semi-quotes about the companies. Make your own opinion about a company and don't be subjected as to not buy a system because of what someone said or is saying.
Oh, and just an FYI, I think what my main thesis on that statement was probably "here's what Sony said, here's what Microsoft is saying and yet Nintendo's saying nothing to that extent. Hmm..." Yet still, that has a fanboyish ring and also sounds immature.
Don't you just love it when I forget to think about stuff before typing/saying? ;)
