View Full Version : Reports
What kind of report can you file. On phone live.
In the past we've had UK gaming news delivered via pre-recorded mp3
we've had callers deliver important info from a genre they are serious about.
please post the areas in which you would like to report on via phone so we can categorize the correspondants. The boards will decide which reporters they want to hear from.
You don't have to be tom brokaw, it doesnt even have to be serious.
The shows should allow verbal discussion of some of the most trafficked threads on the boards.

I go on the Phone and Give a Hiaku on a game as a review
for example about say San Andreas
playing in vice city
driving flaws and glitchy stuff
but the violence rocks!

I like the fact that Scot is opening the content ideas up to the forums. I would like to make a return as the UK/European correspondent to cater for people outside North America who are listening in on the show. Due to the nature of an internet based radio show there will be a world wide audience hence the need, in my view any way, to cater for the other economic regions such as Europe and indeed Australasia. What would be great is if we could get someone from down-under to report too!
Anyway the content of my news feed from the 'Old World' will be something along the lines of:
* Industry news -> What's happening the European gaming industry scene.
* New releases -> Listing the new releases in Europe for any given week.
* Special gaming events -> Coverage of gaming events in the UK such as the Classic Gaming Expo and the up and coming Game Stars where playable code of Halflife 2 and Halo 2 will be made available to the public!
* Previews of any games that are of great interest to the UK market such as Football (Soccer) Manager, Pro Evolution Soccer 4 (Winning Eleven 8) and PAL versions of console games.
I will be making videos of the Game Stars event which I'll be posting a few days after it.
Let me know what you think!
PS: I have done this before for both AGN and the 'No Name show' so I have all the necessary kit to carry out the task :)

Oh c'mon Kropotkin. What's to report? All you have to do for release dates is add 3-6mo to the US release. ;)

Anybody remember me? I was flipping through my digital cable today and ran across G4TV, and remember the countless hours and spent playing video games with guys in the AGN IRC and calling up the show or just watching it. Can't believe that so many of the same people are still here. It's really cool to see Scot still into this, and then Kropotkin and Tigerclaw, and the likes.
Hey Scot, so is there anywhere that I can catch up on what happned over the last few years. I noticed that you guys aren't really affiliated with G4TV, did you guys sell that idea to them or what happened.
See you guys around.

hmmm.... hmmm... Well I could deliver news on new releases, or games that have just been announced that sound interesting/having something innovative about them, and also online gaming news, like news about new games that focus mainly on online play, and MMORPG's.

I'd definitely like to help you with that. I call myself a FPS enthusiast. I could give insights on the newest FPS games (ie Half-Life 2), and give speculation on games like HL2.
I also wouldn't mind doing something silly, like coming up with a game that would never happen, and I would review it.

Heh, if we wanted some fun we could do something like Weekend News Update from SNL, but with game news and stuff.
I could do a bit on Sega news. Or just Sonic news..

I would love to do short news snippets, previews, and reviews of sports games. Even some compare and contrast stuff between various football, basketball, baseball games etc.

My idea: I go on the air, and just talk about all the things I hate in games (and trust me, it's alot)..... you can be sure people would listen, just to hear that and yell at me after. ;)
or maybe talk about older games and emulation and such.

lol, I don't think I can do reports on things that other poeple wouldn't already know, I like doing the behind the scenes work a hell of a lot more. However, people that can do UK news and other things that we couldn't read about on IGN.com or Gamespot.com would be cool to hear from.
I am also looking for stories. The guy that finished metroid in 26 minutes, the guy that built the giant mech in his backyard, and any kind of gaming ledgends, record breakers, etc. Most retarded DDR videos would be good too.

I think a tech bit would be good. It could include the latest releases in the tech world. It could also feature mini reviews of video cards and such, stuff gamers need. It doesn't need to be long, and I would do it with someone if anyone else wanted to.

Well because I'm me it would be really easy for me to report on the competitive gaming scene. I have tons of friends going to almost all of the events and can get pictures from them if I wanted. I live for this stuff. Just gimmie a heads up so I can get started.

It seems like this could be a good "in" on the business I guess. I would be glad to call in and do reviews, grab a video camera and get your DDR vids, or whatever needed
If you need to upload something please send a pm to me and I'll give you the details. Please don't upload just anything.

I don't live to far away from my local Arcade- So maybe I could something like tape people playing games (DDR, Time Crisis, etc) and Do sorta of a Mystery Science Theater 3000 with them. Sorta of like the show CHEAP SEATS on Espn classic.
I have a list of everyone in this thread and what your area of interest in. I'll be sending some pm's out and see if we can get you on skype for an upcoming show.
