check out esurance and such.

at least $1600 or something insane for 6 months though and probably more, it was at least $2000 a year unless i got it added on my dads even if i was just going to keep my tercel :(

i would bet at easily $3800 a year, maybe over $4000

I had a genius idea. I'll buy the car, and put it under my grandma's name (she lives with my family and works for Allstate and pays for her and my mother's car insurance).

Chevrolet Corvette
60 years old
Has a job
good credit
owns two cars and insuring my mother's
Divorced
Lives with her daughter and four grandkids

What year Corvette? (Not related to insurance, I just want to know)

Oh and, yeah, the whole grandma thing sounds like a good idea.

Why do you want something like that?

Besides, it costs alot for insurance, not to mention large displacement engines in that era use so much gas. As for crash safety, you're dead if anything weighing more than 2000 lbs hits you.....got to love fiberglass. A corvette that doesn't run and has a clean body would probably cost 5,000. Unless you want a really shitty one that also doesn't run, for less. If you do find a shitty one that runs be prepared to do maintenace one it...Often. Did I mention that it's just a step above a motorcycle in terms of crash safety, even more-so at your age? Sure, it sounds cool to own a corvette. It probly is. In fact my dad had one when he was 17. He got the clap. And he wrecked it near fataly.

Let's see, you can't take more than one friend with you anywhere. Tires are really expensive. Gas is three dollars a milk jug. You'll get the clap.

I'm trying to talk you out of this.
