View Full Version : I notice Nintendo is making Luigi more and more of a character.

I think everyone may have noticed this, but Luigi as a character and game icom is and has been growing.

Luigi's Mansion wasn't his first time solo (Anyone remember "Mario Is Missing"), but is was his first succesfull one. (Hell, it was the first well known Mario Bros. game, WITHOUT the word "Mario" in the title)

Heck, the game even showed off his timid and clean personality when you used the GameBoy Horror to scan things, as an opposite to Mario's bravery and boldness.

Another good example was Mario & Luigi: SuperStar Saga (Even though Nintendo did an excellent job of making fun of him), Luigi played just an important character as Mario.

Maybe someday Luigi could be able to start to sell his own games, maybe as a filler until Mario 128, or as another serious solo game like Luigi's Mansion.

Luigi is slowly, but surely growing out of his brother's shadow and immersing into his own character, and I find it interesting.

Good luck, o' green one.

I really liked Luigi's Mansion. I've always hoped that they would do a sequel to it. Luigi as a main charater is fun change of pace from Mario or Wario.

Yeah I would like to see some type of Luigi game again. Maybe a sequal to Mansion if it can be done right, but if not then some type of adventure game. Not comepltly like a Super Mario 64 type adventure, but something semi similiar yet different at the same time to give it its own feel. Heh maybe next we can get Luigi's Colonial.

I like what Nintendo did with the Super Mario World remake for GBA. They added Luigi as an optional second character, with different attributes and what not. I think they should do this for the next big Mario title. If it means waiting a year AFTER the next Nintendo console launch (like Mario Sunshine) to get Luigi as an optional second character, I think it would be well worth the wait. Plus it would add even more replay value and depth to the franchise.

There should be more Mario games where you can choose between Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Toad, like in Super Mario Bros 2. Peach's floating ability ruled.

You know, I think that Luigi might just be the next Mario. Huh, how about that?

Luigi > Mario. Boy keeps in shape. Sort of. And gets the brunettes. Bonus.

If Nintendo could make it so, Luigi is able to rival Mario in sales, they'd have it made.

Yeah, Luigi is a great character because it is much easier to relate to him. Luigi is just an overall great character.
