View Full Version : The St. Louis Cardinals
How amazingly, incredible have these Cardinals been? I mean, seriously, four pitchers with 12 wins or more? You've got to be kidding me. Their pitching wasn't even expected to do well. Three players with more than 30 homeruns. Six players with .300 batting averages. Oh, and the team is fourty games above .500. Just look at this lineup and try to keep your jaw up.
Tony Womack
Larry Walker
Albert Pujols
Scott Rolen
Jim Edmonds
Edgar Renteria
Reggie Sanders
Mike Matheny
The Cards are going all the way this year, baby.

Cards will fold in the first round to the Padres (no pun intended).

The cardinals DO kickass.
3 mvp candidates, I think so ;)
I might be a bit biased, as I was born just east of St. Louey, but.... They've got all the elements they need.

Pujols better win MVP this year. He's been robbed the past two.

Well, first year was getting his name out there, and last, he did get ripped off.
This year, I'll be happy as long as its NOT Barry bonds.

Same here. I hate Barry Bonds.

It's not a dream. It's a prediction.

What makes you think the Padres will beat the Cardinals in a five game series?

Padres will clinch the Wild Card in their final game of the regular season. They will have all the momentum going into the playoffs. The Cardinals will coast through the rest of the season, and will become complacent. They'll overlook the underdog Padres, and will be shocked in 5, as the Cardinals starting pitching will not hold up in the playoffs. Adam Eaton will be the series MVP.

The Cardinals have waited for years to make it to the World Series. This is their best shot. With all of the free agents they'll have and LaRussa's job in jeapordy, they won't take it for granted.

Bah, LaRussa's job isn't in jeoporady IMO. Even though nothing great has happened under his rule, thsoe from Louis LOVE him. I seriously doubt they would fail to resign him, He's a great coach, and any team would love to have him.
About being complacent, John, you do have a point, But it's lost upon the cardinals. Larussa will whip em up when need be, as he's a proven winner.
I wouldn't count on your longshot.

I guess I said it the wrong way. I meant that LaRussa's contract doesn't run through next year.
And with guys as intense as Rolen, Pujols and Kline, the Cardinals won't fold easily.

Yeah, not many players will actually flick off the coach for not putting him in a game.
