I like their earlier stuff (first 2 cd's) and a couple newer songs. I saw em in concert, they were good live.

Yeah, their first three albums are their best. And yes, they are amazing live.

I think they are wayyyy too over rated, and I don't really enjoy their music. You said discuss, and I did. :)

Tell me, why are they overrated?

From a talent perspective, all the players in the band are good musicians. They are very tight and play their songs very well.
However, I can't stand their songs. I can't get into that jazz infused upbeat rock that they play. So I respect them as musicians, I just can't listen to them.

Dave Matthews just gives me the creeps. That aside, I agree with DKC.

That is one of the best comments I've heard from someone who doesn't like their music. I hear all the time, "All of DMB's songs are slow and boring and Dave sucks and they have a saxophone and acoustic guitar so it just sucks." But you're right, talent-wise, they are all incredible. It just depends on whether you love or hate their music. They're definitely a love/hate band.

Because I really don't think there music is very good. They are good musicians, but I think there work is over praised.

Alright, that's your opinion and I respect that.
I was just making sure you weren't one of those people who'd be all like, "der not hard enuff 4 me"

der not hard enuff 4 me
seriously though, I had both of their first two albums, and loved them.
I ended up losing them, and I became emo. :(
*in final, I love them*

I can dig it. Not enough to buy their CDs, though.
My sisters are their biggest fans, I swear. I don't know how many of their concerts they've been to.

Yeah, they're an amazing live band and the four new songs are awesome.
So Much to Say, Too Much, Two Step, and Wharehouse were my favorites live.

Yeah I have the Gorge DVD. I want to get the 6 CD set though. How kickass would that be to see DMB play at the Gorge?
