Wayans Do The Munsters
White Chicks wasn't scary enough.

"August 24, 2004 - You just can't make this stuff up... Today's Hollywood Reporter tips that the Wayans brothers have signed with Universal Pictures to remake the 1960s TV show The Munsters into a contemporized feature film".

"The trade scoops that Keenen Ivory, Marlon and Shawn Wayans will write the screenplay as well as produce along with Rick Alvarez. There is a possibility that Keenen Ivory Wayans would direct the film, but no deal will be made until a script is completed."

"The Wayans version will reportedly "stay true to the original characters, but will place them in a contemporary setting."

"THR's sources claim that the Wayans came up with the idea for a Munsters movie while filming White Chicks. Coincidentally, says the trade, Universal was poised to dust off the property, so the brothers pitched their take to the studio and a deal was made."

"The Munsters originally aired on CBS from 1964-66. The show followed the odd but friendly Munster family, headed by father Herman (a ringer for Frankenstein's monster), who could never understand why people reacted to them strangely."

- Brian Linder

If they do get to make the movie I just hope that it is good. I love the Munsters and I don't want them to fuck it up.

I hope Marlon Wayans learns one day, hopefully soon, that he is much better at drama than he is at comedy.

I don't know...I really don't see the need for a big screen Munsters movie.

Besides, who could ever replace Fred Gwynne?

Exactly. I was blown away by his performance in that movie. He is a much better actor than he makes himself out to be.

What has he done besides Requiem? He is currently shooting another drama called "Behind The Smile", being directed an written by brother Damon, he starred in the extremely underrated satire you likely didn't see but should called Marci X. Marlon has starred in no other dramas up to now.

Marci X? http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/marci_x/? I don't see Marlon in the cast. I see Damon. I don't see good reviews, either.

I just can't judge a man's acting ability from one movie.
