I may have been wrong about EA with the NASCAR licence. This looks like it might be decent if not good.

We'll see when it comes out.

Yeah I'm not sure about it. Think it is a rent first game. I thought Nascar Thunder 2002 was such a great game, and have not been all that happy with EA race games since. The last Thunder's career mode was just, ugh, like you had to put in about 5 years to be competitive. By that I mean placing mid 30s, maybe. I don't agree with how poor the car you have to start with is, hopefully chase for the cup will be different, maybe if you do well at lower levels it will give you a chance at a good ride.

The funny thing is, is that the basic concept of the game is the same concept of NASCAR Dirt to Daytona. In it you worked your way up from the NASCAR dirt track to the Featherlite, to the Trucks, to finally the NASCAR Cup series. Monster Games had the game down. In fact the only thing EA seems to have added is the Hero/Villian element. Now if EA has done as this as well as Monster Games did on Dirt to Daytona then is might be a decent game. We'll see, I'll rent it first.

i'm skipping out. the career mode is almost impossible, it's sad when you are like a half mile back from the pack in just a couple of laps damn near every race.
the only tracks i could ever do decent on were talledega and daytona. then i could purposely cause a caution by spinning my car out about six laps in. since i was in last, i'd go ahead and fuel up. that would then make me six laps ahead on fuel, so whenever everyone else pitted i was able to lap the field. by the time i pitted i was so far ahead, that even pitting on green i was still able to win the race by over a minute.

They took that a bit to far, if they tone it down it may be nice. Fighting to get 36th postion on the second lap was just silly.
