OK at first I thought this was a total scam & being the victim of some I know.

That changed today after I read Kevin Rose's site (http://kevinrose.typepad.com/) and this article at Wired magazine (http://www.wired.com/news/mac/0,2125,64614,00.html), both I trust a whole lot more than some random e-mail blast.

So I went to the site. The offers are varied, AOL, Columbia House, BMG Music, eBay Visa card, etc. I went with the BMG Music, probably the easiest to complete & one I really have no problem doing.

So if you can help me out & are looking to get an iPod (they have the 20 gig or the Mini) please go to this link;

Thanks  :smt023

I reiterate that this only works if you have five friends dumber than you.

I have 0 desire to rely on other people to help me get a free iPod. There is absolutely no guarantee they would want to try to get 5 other people to sign up.

Five of your referrals must sign up and complete one offer. Currently 2 of your friends have joined and successfully completed one offer.

heh....

I realize your point, thank you for your view of my intelligence level & those of my friends, but you seemed to miss the main point from your soap box.

The point is that it has now been verified to NOT to be a scam. So those people that would not have done it before thinking that it's all a scam & that nobody will not get an iPod can now rethink their position if they wish to. Those that were on the fence about it are now more informed & can make an informed desicion about it.

I got 2 out of like 100 people to actually do it. :(

While it might not be a scam out right, it's still a pyramid scheme. If it were that easy to get a free iPod everyone would have them and they would be out of business.

Why do I have a feeling nobody is reading the article & just coming in here to blast?

I read the article even though I'd already read from other sources that they will in fact send you an iPod. I know this is a completely legitimate business practice and not a scam.

It's still a pyramid scheme in the fact that you have to get 5 other people to sign up and those people have to get 5 other people to sign up and then those 5 people have to get 5 people to sign up and so on.

Granted, everytime I tried to draw a diagram it ended up looking like a giant molecule, but a 'molecule scheme' doesn't have the same ring as 'pyramid scheme' now does it.

Aren't pyramid schemes illegal?

Aren't pyramid schemes illegal?

I guess it depends on the product. Strictly cash pyramids are. This isn't a pyramid though, it's more of a marketing/e-mail harvest.

Either way in the end I'm really not losing. I'm getting CD's I want by joining the BMG Music Service, which I can quit after year & buying one CD. If I get the iPod for free great, if not oh well I tried. The company that's doing it get's my e-mail address that I give out for things I know I will get junk e-mail.

You guys shoulda got in on this a long time ago. I used the infone offer and that needed no credit card and you got credit for it right away. Had my sign ups done in 20 mins. I notice the offer list is alot shorter now....

It's just a matter of getting people to complete offers for me now. Eight have signed up, but only one has completed their offer.

Well I just watched The ScreenSavers & Alex (& his girlfriend) both got their iPods, so it does work.

It's never too late to sign up; http://www.freeiPods.com/default.aspx?referer=7021187

I'd be shocked if the people you referred actually completed their obligation.

Lord Moon

That's the trick there. I know people have joined, it's just whether or not they completed their offer.

supposedly they check to see if you did that and if you do they won't send you the ipod. Anyway, the $10 offer still stands.
