Everything about this movies is so awsome, but the best part is the cinametography. The long shots are amazing.
The one in the car where it pans 360 around inside the car. And the one latter in the film where Theo's running around trying to get back to Kee. Also the part where the everyone realizes that there's a baby and the whole war just stops. Fantastic.

It's on a crappy limted release right now, but it should get to local theaters, from what I've heard, Jan. 5th. So look for it then.

Heard about this one from out of nowhere a few weeks back, and since then, I've become increasingly more interested in it. Happy to hear some more praise for it.

I remember seeing the previews months ago... it looks amazing. I love Alfonso Cuaron's previous work.

I thought the "MTV" style shots were pretty sweet. Made me think of Gears of War. Awesome movie, though I tend to like "end of the world" type movies. Though I would usually get very annoyed when the movie end the way this one did (only because I wanted to see more of what happened next), I really enjoyed this movie. Mr. Caine (sp) was freakin awesome in this movie haha.

I saw it a couple weeks ago when it was still in limited, the movie is awesome. The cinematography was indeed amazing.

Yeah i watched it last night, I wish they got a little more into what happened with the baby. The ending left me to assume(from the children laughing)that the baby that Kee had was able to also reproduce. I wanted more from the ending but the way it was filmed was impressive, especially they war scene at the end.

i'm pretty sure i remember hearing the book actually ends much more concisely.

I'm not sure I like films to always end with a clear-cut conclusion.
In Children of Men, the hope that mankind lives on is almost the choice of the viewer. Some people would like to see that it was too late, seeing as humanity became too corrupt. The other side would like to see humanity thrive once again.
It's quite subjective to how your outlook is of humanity by the end of the film. That's why they left it that way, for you to fill in the blanks.

The ending really tests how much faith you have in humanity: if you're an optimist, the ship is really the Human Project; if you're the cynic, then the ship isn't and humanity's screwed.

Another good reason it probably ended that way because Theo was the only character that was able to progress the plot; without the character, it would seem weird to see the outcome without the character that pushed it.

i actually agree with you on this. i remember getting into an argument with some friend over that exact point after i had seen it.
it really is an improvement, especially since as far as i can tell the book is much more "fuck you all" all the way through.

Children of Men is by far one of the best made movies i've seen in a long time. It was really filmed beautifully!
