The Magnificent Seven is a kickass movie. The plot was based off some Japanese movie called the Seven Samurai, but this version is cooler, because there's guns, Mexicans, and dead Indians and stuff.

Plot in a nutshell: Eli Wallach (the ugly guy in The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly) and like 40 Mexican guys ravage a village every year in Mexico. It's up to Yul Brenner, Steve McQueen, James Coburn, Charles Bronson, Brad Dexter, Robert Vaughn, and Horst Buchholz to protect it.

The soundtrack is also cool too. It's done by Elmer Bernstein. It's all epic and "in your face".

This is the kind of movie to see if you like large gunfights and Mexicans getting killed.

It is a great movie. You should also check out "Once upon a time in the West" with Henry Fonda. It's also very good.

Probably one of the few remakes to be just as good as the original.

Great cast (the official coming out of Steve McQueen), great location, great score, and great dirceting (even Kurosawa approved, he presented John Sturges with a samurai sword to pay his respect).

I'll probably watch it again today, making it a Steve McQueen day in a way, since I'm watching the Sand Pebbles right now.
