I'm currently listening to last weeks Fantastic Forum I'm thinking of picking up Civil War on trade paperback next month. So I goto Amazon.com and search for Civil War (http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_b/104-7463740-8024750?url=node%3D1000%2C4366&field-keywords=civil+war&Go.x=0&Go.y=0&Go=Go) and find a whole crap load of books. I even thought of starting at House of M (http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_b/104-7463740-8024750?url=node%3D1000%2C4366&field-keywords=house+of+m&Go.x=0&Go.y=0&Go=Go), but that yielded a ton of results too. I'd like to read them in chronological order. Do you guys have a list of which order I should read them in or are there any I should skip over completely? I'm about half-way through the episode so I apologize if you answer this question later in the episode, but I probably won't finish listening to it until tomorrow.

on a related note, is the Marvel universe always this dynamic? I'm just getting into comics and it seems like its one event after another.

House of M led to Civil War which is leading into the Initiative...then World War Hulk will be upcoming to inject some "terrorism" is the whole "Civil War = American politics/red states, blue states" analogy

...will this keep going? Its almost like the Marvel U is a macrocosm of how any one title goes through stories

the Marvel U is becoming very crossover driven. as far as 2007 goes i only know up until world war hulk i don't know what they have planned after that maybe kadosho heard something and isn't willing to share. but back to the corssover thing its a good way to sell more books man i just bought a fuckin she hulk book today cuz it had the hulk banner at the top

Speaking of events, I wasnt able to say much when I called in FF last week.
As regards with House of M, every comic in Marvel entirety was literally a part of the huge saga that year. I'd say its best to stay with the main run.
But its by choice if you want to follow with X-men, Spidey, and the Avengers tie-ins. There's a huge overlapping of storylines that tie-in with the events of Civil War as well.

Btw, speaking of that event, Marvel had a panel (with some notes I found from another big comic site) http://www.comicon.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=36;t=006143

I even got a few words from some writers that may have a hand in a new project at a later date. It involves a bit of changes, right next to Spidey's life (he may just have a run-in with everyone in the Marvel universe, but in a different perspective).
ssh, i only said it here, hehe
