This notion may be played out at this point, but it obvious that the movie and television industries are borrowing heavily from comic book conventions. Comic book movies are in a boom right now and more and more TV networks are recognizing that the formula that keeps readers coming back each month for comics is perfect for serialized TV (24, Lost, Heroes).

What comics do you feel warrant a jump to another media? Obviously any superhero comic can be translated into a movie (see Ghostrider), but I'm looking for something more....apt.

I'm halfway through Watchmen and I think the pacing so far would work well as an HBO miniseries. The panels are setup in such a cinematic way sometimes that a panel-to-frame translation wouldn't be crazy. As far as non-superhero stuff, I think Transmetropolian would work well as a show because most issues are self-contained looks at a futuristic lifestyle. (It would have to be a cartoon though, I don't think you could pull it off live-action).

Thoughts?
