The Eagles for one are severely overrated. Terrell Owens 100? Brian Dawkins 99? McNabb a 92??? Westbrook an 88???? Tre Thomas!!! He's rated a 90! What the hell?????????

That's what happens when you're on the cover. Although last year it was bullshit that the Raiders got rated one point higher than the Bucs despite getting ripped to utter shreds by them in the SB.

then last year, they both got ripped to shreds. :p

Yeah but the Raiders got it worse, because they were the worse team to begin with..

I wouldn't call 7-9 being ripped to shreds though. All we had to do was kick a goddamned extra point and bat down one flutterball and the Bucs would have won the division and the Cats would have been on the outside looking in.

Some of you guys are really putting the ratings thing a bit over board dont you think? I mean ratings in a sports videogame dont make or break it..its how the attributes are set/leveled "not the overall rating" and besides - its no diffrent then the recent roster issues i see people crying over because of ESPN's early rls date - updates can fix/adjust these things guys.

Serously - dont take the ratings more then a grain of salt until you actually sit down with the game and see how the game is tuned to the team/player ratings.

Alot of people are making a big issue out of this and its crazy. Whats funny is the majority of people are only moaning about ratings of their favorite team/players ...how ironic

Oh please. I just got into this crap with another dumb Eagles fan at another forum.

Terrell Owens is not the best WR in the NFL. Top WRs shouldn't be in the Top 10 for dropsies. Marvin Harrison, Torry Holt, and Randy Moss are all better than Terrell Owens.

Dawkins was the best safety in the league two years ago. He did nothing special last year even when he came back. If you bring up the INT in the Packers playoff game I will laugh at you.

Westbrook hasn't proved that he can be a full time back. So why rate a player so high because he's flashed potential? That's stupid.

Go back to the Eagles boards you came out of, you homer.

I don't care about singleplayer. But for online, it's stupid playing the Eagles with the list of overrated players they have. The one that bugs me the most is Tra Thomas. This guy is awful. Whatever I'll probably be using the Panthers online.

First off I'd like to say,

http://home.comcast.net/~vlabney/owensbaby.gif

furthermore. When I was watching football I remember the 49ers getting owned the Eagles, the all the sudden Owens is hurt and a rookie Wr shows him up as the 49ers go on to rip those birds apart. I also remember seeing Dawkins trying to imitate a kicker trying to tackle when Ricky Williams got lose Vs the Eagles, then of course trying to jump on him once he was out of bounds. As for McNabb, 3 straight NFC title games, 3 straight loses, but yeah I know, it was everybody's fault, but his. His being the QB through all of that means nothing. I just wonder how long it will be before TO thinks he should be the QB and tries to move McNabb to Wr.

Damn. TO is good, but not 100 good. And Westbrook has the potential to be good, but making him an 88 already when he wasn't even the full time back last year is stupid. Don't get me wrong, Westbrook is probably one of my favorite players in the league right now (and I'm not even an Eagles fan).

Owens is no where near 100. I don't know where the hell they got that idea from- he's not even close. I am a diehard 49ers fan, and Owens didn't even play last year. There were so many occasions where TO didn't even make attempts to catch the ball, the biggest example being at Minnesota, where Owens missed the ball by a foot on about 5 bombs thrown to him, where if he clearly had just jumped, or even fully extended his arm, he would have been gone for a TD.

Bottom line is Owens is not a 100 rating, and he is NOT the best WR in the NFL. He has the potential, but even if you look at his stats, his numbers have been dropping every year. The truth is, I'm glad that TO is gone, and many 49er fans would agree with me. I want to see guys who want to play in San Francisco on my Niners, such as Cedric Wilson and Brandon Lloyd. Based on numbers, I think TO outta be like an 85, but because he is so good when he WANTS to be (a la Randy Moss), he could easily be a 95, but no more- 100 is just plain rediculous.

I was in a rush this morning so I didn't get my main complaint in. Ed Reed only being #3 on that list, bah, he's the best I've seen in a while.

Both Ed Reed and Roy Williams are playing out of position. Roy can't cover like a FS and Reed can't stop the run like a SS.

How high is Stephen Davis' ratings?

dl4ndow
07-16-2004, 09:57 AM
I would guess they made TO a 100 because he is the cover athlete and playing the a great QB, the expectations from him are that much higher. Westbrook will be the full-time back this year and based on his potential, that's why they gave him a higher rating. The ratings really take into account what you are expected to do rather than totally on what you have done in the past.
