Witchblade #103 & #104
X-men First Class
Xena WP - Dark Xena Saga #1

A classic teammate from the Avengers returns to visit a fallen friend. But the consquences turn the cards on his favor. Would an old ally don a suit, and use the shield in someone's name?
WB 103&104
Taking place with a new story arch, as the Witchblade finds a new host.
X-men First Class #1
A speciall variant of new & classic tales telling old stories behind the team that changed comics then and now.
Xena WP - Dark Xena #1
What if she came back? This new storyline unfolds the after effects of the television series that changed the opinion of being a heroine in today's and past society. Gabby takes up arms against a shadow of her old friend, and finds out that the world around her is not what it used to be. Might call it her "mirror, mirror" quest. But is Dark Xena really back from the dead??

Captain America #26
-written by Ed Brubaker
-art by Steve Epting
-colored by Frank D'Armata
With the aftermath of Civil War, Sharon (Cap's girlfriend) realizes what she had done wrong. In part of Tony Stark bringing her in to see her boyfriend's corpse. Not sure why he likes to torture others, but lately thats just his thing. This ish is really all about Sharon's waking up, and the Red Skull penning his aftermath plan B.
Cleverly written, Brubaker makes it seem there is definitely two sides of the story. Aside from Sharon leaving SHIELD after her chat with Tony. Now she is just a normal person, but with a nightmarish scar that will never let her go. But she's not alone, Bucky (Cap's ol friend) even let's some steam out, but it could wind him in more trouble.
What is the Red Skull up to now? ish #27 will give that answer (if the next ish isnt delayed!)
Mighty Avengers #1-3
-written by Brian Michael Bendis
-art by Frank Cho
-colors by Jason Keith
If you checked out "The Initiative", you know the roster. (its just a bit much to type out for a review anyways) So with that, the Mighty Avengers comes together (due in part of Ms. Marvel & Tony Stark). Leading on Tony has been acting rather funny lately, as if not himself.
The gang sets off on their first mission, it seems rather novel with Moleman as an accomplice (monsters, ghouls, and a really big mess from the underground). Turns out he's not alone, well sorta. Looking to Tony, his body becomes frayed-warped and then fades.. and a sinister female form rises above his.. uh.. disappearance?
(so that's the subtext of ish #1) Issue no.#2 is the gang trying to figure out a plan, and talk to this old foe (and hence its Ultron) Plus how to take such a villian down, when it is also your ally. Issue no.#3 Its a follow up of the 2nd ish, and there some ties a few members have learned to let go. (*the Wasp & Giant Man.. whom Tigra has her lovely paws on)
*and then a classic figure appears with a message they never expected...
On the writing, cleverly done, and it really makes the team seem like a messed up family trying to figure where to go from here. Even with the aftermath of Civil War, this like a cakewalk for them. Ok thats a stretch, its a mudpie.
(*and thought bubbles!)
Ze art, what more to say, a popuar artist shows his stuff and delivers. Then again it just feels solid to keep you going, but it also feels a lil stiff. Just so used to seeing Cho doing stillwork, but in motion it feels kinda weird. Takes some getting used to. Overall pretty good.
Wonder Woman #9
-written by Jodi Picoult
-art by The Dodsons
Well where to begin, mad as hell Amazons, heroes, and.. a huge mess.
With Amazons Attack in full force, Diana works alongside her friends to figure out where to go from here. Aside the fact her mom is back from the dead, Circe is being her usual devious self, and many cataclysmic events are going on you can barely count.
I'll repeat one more thing, her mom is alive, thanks to Circe. But under control? or own free will? Aside from being ticked, and wanting everyone's hide. Is it really her mom, or a shell? But what happens when the one who brought her back also gets axed? owwie.. revealed a mess
On the writing, Jodi Picoult really gives readers a neat perspective from any point of view. I have never seen anyone like her, and she does a great job of bringing some old friends to life. (*and Nemesis, a stinker but the right teammate for Diana, somehow it works dunno why) I really do hope Jodi continues to work on this series, because she does a great job.
Artistry.. been waiting to say that. What more to say about Terry & Rachel Dodson?! Its damn good, nuff said. Ok detail.. damn I dunno what more to say, they just "kick it up a notch!" And they just keep kicking more ass, cant wait to see what they've got planned next.
*Special review.. huzzah
Marvel Zombies - Hardcover Avengers #1
What more to say aboutt he undead heroes? Well you've got see for yourself.
In this engaging nightmare, everyone is out to eat everybody else. With the contaminated disease taking out the Marvel verse, they run outta food. See Silver, say bye-bye.. oh and they even eat out Galactus! the fucking planet eater! *oops eat out.. er mean regurgitate.. they absorb Silver & Galactus's powers..
So the undead heroes (er anti-heroes) now have powers beyond what they had when they were their normal selves. And I do scrutinize normal, because these are the heroes of old. With lunch gone missing, Black Panther (whom gains a bit of allies along the way). The undead gang manage to arrive on an alien planet.. and.. well it continues somewhere.
(*footnote, actually it wraps up within Black Panther's current run.. but how? I dunno something's gonna happen and no one is a happy camper. Everything has gone berserk, so the new team of Four head out to save the other multiverse, thing is.. can they?)
-writing.. Robert Kirkman (well known as the Zombie guy) has an insane amount of talent. And if you gleam over his text notes before reading the book, it delivers a neat subtext of how it came to be. And it involves the "Karate Kid" no I'm not kidding
-art.. Sean Phillips brings the undead to life, seriously the guy is insane with his style. And you thought things were gritty in other comics.. I can't say anymore because he's just that good with "touching" the undead. Literally.
-coverer.. muahaha.. Arthur Suydam.. classic fellow, he's done tons of stuff in the past, and it shows he's not backing out anytime soon. Just looking @ his appraised 'mock' sheets, they give a gruesome look @ "What If" our fav heroes were in fact, undead.
And that wraps it up for this week's Comics in my collection.
(*oh yeah.. I gotta do a special Spidey one too later)

I haven't gotten much per se, but I've done a TON of catch-up reading on all the series I've 'made available' to me.
Including:
Avengers - The Initiative #1-#2 (it's alright)
Mighty Avengers #1-#3 (meh, I hate these guys.)
New Avengers #26-#30 (I like where this is going, but it just doesn't feel like the 'Avengers' to me)
Omega Flight #1-#2 (kind of dragging but there's still a few issues left)
Thunderbolts #110-#114 (pretty good...Ant-Man should try and be more like this)
Iron Fist #1-#5 (I love this, I need more. NOW.)
Eternals #1-#7 (good stuff, I hope to see more of this come...oh, and this series made me hate Iron Man more. A fucking Celestial is just standing there, and he's still trying to get the damn Eternals to register)
Illuminati #1-#2 (it's nice to read of a time when superheroes weren't fighting against each other)

Spider-Man Family #3
This neat collection of classic Spidey tales has another issue. Main cover Spidey has a run-in with the Fantastic Four. In-story, its just another day for the webbed one, but he comes in the path of Susan Storm and Electro (who's trying to steal some cash from the bank!) And the gang takes notice of Sue (unconscious.. and you can guess what else happens!)
Plus some neat side-stories from the past! Including "What If? Spidey joined the Fantastic Four (which is actually going on in some recent runs!)
Army of Darkness vs Marvel Zombies #4 (of 5)
Ash, Scarlet Witch, and Dazzler venture through Latveria to find the "book of the dead" and an answer. Um, one problem, the book reveals "you are fucked! I had nothing to do with this! har har" That darn thing is evil as is, but that was worse than any Marvel villain in existence. So Ash and his lovely duo try to find another way out of this situation (oh and Enchantress.. widdles her finger.. yeah its gonna go there)
Stan Lee Meets....
This is a fun hardcover collection of classic Stan Lee written Marvel tales. There's even a few specials where the man himself is inside of the printed page. Definitely something you dont wanna miss.
(*I also picked this up because my friends' store would no longer be getting orders.. and maybe it was finally the time to get it before its gone!)
X4
What if the Xmen and Fantastic Four teamed up? Well this is that tale, plus its a fight to stop the Brood from coming to earth. With a bit of help, its one of the biggest Marvel family tie-ins to date.
(*like the note above with Stan Lee meets, this wll no longer be in print.. I couldnt pass up this one either)

Black Summer 00 (another great Warren Ellis story)
Daredevil: Battlin' Jack Murdock 01 (good start)
Spider-Man & Human Torch 1-5 (mini from 2005 about the rivalry/later friendship of the two, misadventures and stuff ensue. It's a nice read for anyone not expecting anything earth-shattering)
New Warriors 01 (i'd like this start more if I knew more about recent X-Men and whatnot. I didn't recognize the guy on the last page either. But I am more compelled to find out who these people all are though.
Omega Flight 03 (jeeze, an already ho-hum series got even worse. Honestly, the only thing redeeming about this team is the image of them - you got the Captain America and Thor copies except with more douchebaggery and horse-face-ness, you got Talisman covering the Scarlet Witch-type magic side of things, you got Sasquatch who is kind of Beasty in his own way, and Arachne as the team's Spider-Woman. Oh wait. And there's Guardian/Michael Pointer, who I'm hoping kills off this team of the Flight as well. Well, if he kills USAgent at least, I'll be ok. I think Sasquatch deserves better than this. The readers do too, I think.)
And finally...
Avengers: The Initiative 03 (for the first time, I've actually really started to like this series. Nice ish this time, and I'm now looking forward to more.)
