I wanna know if anyone on the forums would be interested in helping me make a game. Nothing for a console or anything but kinda for fun. I really wanna make a story i wrote into a game and proove i can do it better than any old real developer can. I just need a few things,
And they cannot be copyrighted or stolen lol
Sound FX
Sprites (Characters)
Full drawn out characters (Preferebly holding a weapon of some sort.)
Game Music
Item Icons
Editor (Once again i would prefer someone capable of actually doing a great job to edit the storyline/plot/directing)
Beta Testers (To look over the final game)
Beta Editor (Someone to look over the pre-beta game , in phases and help fix timing, resource and other issues so i can beta release it)
If you would be interested in helping just send me a forum PM. I will then send you back the information and details of what i exactly want to happen here. I am open to suggestions and such. If this game is 100% of our own creation i could sell. In which case i would need someone to help with that. A quick note: The game will be made in RPG Maker XP, if anyone would wish to help with map building (Must have experience) To help lighten the load i can send you a copy of the program (People who don't have it, others to practice and join into project)
I know it may seem rough but i really would like to get a little team together. A game designed by the All Games Community, proper credit and such. I know i'm young but that gives me even more time. If requested i can draw up a simple map using the copyrighted materials, just a few screenshots of how the game would look.

So, you need everything except the story?
Yeah, i just finished up a main character who doesen't look that bad. As a full list i need the following
For full information on what i need google RPG Maker XP and choose the top link. On that site choose materials.
I need characters where each person is 33 x 49 so that they all look about even. I need lots of monsters for the characters to battle. I have a story set up on a hardcopy and am prepared to send it to anyone who is intrested in the project. I shall write up a full and exact list of what i need made or found. If found it cannot be from a game and it has to be able to be taken without naming a source. If i had 250 sprites and had to name each of them i would die. lol.

Character Sprites:
Using the following format:
http://www.enterbrain.co.jp/tkool/RPG_XP/eng/fighter.gif
No red lines or anything, just the character itself.
Create the following please:
A male mage- Wears black cloak and carries a staff-UNASSIGNED
A Female Samurai- A typical Blue Kimono with two swords at her side-UNASSIGNED
A Male Warrior- A tall man with blue hair and green clothes(Not like links more normal)-UNASSIGNED
Evil Enemy- A tall dark man. Black hair and black armor. Make him look evil!-UNASSIGNED
Unknown Monster- A blue blob in the shape of a man. No face just a sillouete
A creepy female?- A girly teenage that doesen't seem like she should be evil.
The above are the main Characters and needed from square 1.
Character Battlers:
111 x 170 would be prefered as main characters- Top 4 and creepy female. Male warrior and Evil enemy can be a big bigger
Example:
http://www.enterbrain.co.jp/tkool/RPG_XP/eng/fighter_bt.gif
except not that gay...
Main Character-A tall man with black hair, red eyes, and A black cloak. Try to include a weapon under the cloak. Maybe a hand coming out to stab with a sword or something.
Then the rest of the main characters above. At least meet the minimal requirement. Also note these will be created after the initial sprite is created so the person who decides to make that character will be able to look at the sprite and use it as a reference.
Sound FX: Anything from a door closing to an explosion. I need as many as possible to add to the games effective hold.
Music: Please PM me for information reguarding this.
Animations:
This is how it should be made. Once again, no red lines
http://www.enterbrain.co.jp/tkool/RPG_XP/eng/fire.jpg
Tilesets:
I need sets of tiles that i can use in the games enviroment.
http://www.enterbrain.co.jp/tkool/RPG_XP/eng/grassland.jpg
Mainly: A campsite, kinda like the above but not. A forest, i want it to be kinda dark on one side then lighter on the other, that way i can build a forest so that its dark on one end and lighter on the other, I.E. Tall and wide trees for one and small tighter trees on the other. A village! I need houses, trees, flowers, all the stuff a village needs.
More but thats just the basics.
AutoTiles:
http://www.enterbrain.co.jp/tkool/RPG_XP/eng/at_tile.gif
A The representative pattern, displayed in the tile palette and used to show how the other autotiles interact with each other.
B The parent pattern. If the pattern shown here and an autotile from the same group (i.e., with the same representative pattern) are placed next to one another, they will tile seamlessly.
C The parent pattern is featured in the four corners of this tile.
D Tiles with the parent pattern on all four sides, plus a central pattern with no borders at all.
also if you want to make something cool like water just tile them sideways like this:
http://www.enterbrain.co.jp/tkool/RPG_XP/eng/at_tile2.gif
Icons:
Small 24x 24 pixel icons.
Major items:
Swords of all kinds
Four Orbs one Clear, Red, Blue, and Brown
Shields of all kinds
Helmets of all kinds
Chest armors of all kinds
Accessories of all kinds (Rings necklaces)
and any other things that might be useful such as fish and a fishing rod(Using massive variables with a common event and maybe a 50 branch tree i could make a rather intresting and completely random fishing game.)
Battle Backgrounds:
A place for the battle characters to fight. 640x320.
Places like forests and rivers and mountains and caves and such. More specifics if intrested.
Then there are other things like paranormas which can be any size but must be a little bit cartoony. Fog is basicly just black bloches that will apear as fog in the game.
Last but not least are Window Skins:
These are much more complicated to make and i would like someone skilled to work on them. Here is a quick explanation of how the program will read the picture.
http://www.enterbrain.co.jp/tkool/RPG_XP/eng/win_skin.gif
A The window background. A 128 x 128 pixel pattern is drawn here, filling the window whatever its size. Technically, the window's edges are each two pixels smaller than that, a feature that allows for natural-looking rounded corners. Plus, the translucent backgrounds of some windows means you don't need to make the images themselves translucent.
B The window frame and scroll arrows. The four corners are drawn at a set size of 16x16 pixels, and the remaining frame tiles at a width of 16 pixels to match the window's size. The arrows are used to indicate that scrolling is possible in a given window.
C The command cursor indicates which item is selected in a given window. The outer two pixels resize both horizontally and vertically, and the rest adjusts horizontally to match the size of the cursor.
D The pause graphic, used in a message window to show that the player's input is required, is a four-frame animation measuring 16x16 pixels.
E The arrow cursor, used in battles to select actors and enemies, is a two-frame animation measuring 32x32 pixels. While it's not actually part of the window, it's included in this file for convenience.
If anyone is actually intrested in creating something for this game such as the Title screen or a Game over screen i would be glad to give you the information.
Although it may seem i am not doing anything i intend to pickup all the slack. So say nobody joins the team, i'll do it all myself......
When it comes to the tilesets and autotiles and battle backgrounds and all that stuff i would like them to look as good as possible and well thought out. I know i am asking alot of the community but this would be a great adventure to test out all of our skills as artists, editors, designers, and whatever you do.
