Game for Thought

Just another thing often questioned, but rarely answered.
So this is a broadened idea topic on why games *even multiplatform go to the PS2 first.
1- Is the PS2 a test subject?
2- Can it handle "name of game title" without some problems?
3- Will it only be released for said system?
4- Or is Sony holding some publishers on a leash?
What do you fellow gamers think?

Sony has sold the most systems, obviously there's more of a possibility of it selling on there.

Yeah, totally, at the moment it has the widest market. But notice lately more and more games are coming out for the Xbox exclusively. Developers want to be able to make games that challenge themselves creatively, do things with graphics and memory that they just can't do on the PS2, well, at least good developers want to do this.
