It won't be Steve Rogers, but someone new will be taking up the mantle. (http://comics.ign.com/articles/826/826576p1.html)

Interesting new design. I like it. It has elements of the old costume, but with some newness mixed in. Of course, any art with Alex Ross automatically looks fantastic.

The gun bothers me though, considering how Captain America was very particular against killing in any fashion. Unless this gun is designed to be non-fatal, I don't think it would be fitting for him. Granted, this could've just been Steve Rogers' view in general.

The new costume fails big time.

Utility belt looks dumb. Stupid blue stripe down the side of his pants like a motorcycle cop. Why does he need a canteen? He is wearing pirate boots. A pistol? Why does he need a pistol? Shield and pistol? How stupid is that? How is he going to reload with a shield on his arm anyway?

I don't believe The Chosen is considered canon. (along with most of the new series under the Marvel Knights banner)

Unless that guy does become this new Cap. Newsarama (http://forum.newsarama.com/showthread.php?t=132706) posted an interview with Brubaker/Ross on the character, and no signs are pointing to it.

*shrug* We'll see in January, though.

Bah, I don't give two shits who's behind the mask...Captain America is supposed to be the MU's greatest hand-to-hand combatant, damnit!

Whomever put the gun in hand must be riding the short bus.

p.s. Is his costume made out of sateen or something??? Holy hell, that's SHINY!!!
