Me too Krop, I played both and FIFA 08 on the Xbox 360 is a better soccer game this year. Online Team Play ftw.

NHL 08 for taking a chance on a new control scheme and making it work. Or at least it was new to me since I've been avoiding EA for a while. Plus they added all the AHL rosters, were on top of the new uniforms, etc. Just seemed like this was the year they actually beat 2K.

Now I just need to get a 360 of my own, because the PC version is a complete joke. :/

huge fan of Madden... was dissappointed with 06 that i didn't even bother to get 07 but when 08 came out it was much improved. I do have issues with turnovers being so easy to make but other than that it was, in my opinion, the most improved sports title... but howcome Mario Strikers Charged wasn't a nominee?

NBA 2k8 satisfied my hunger for realistic/arcade basketball game.
NBA 2k8 made all my NBA addict relatives drop their jaws and salivate.
EA sucks, porting a crappy NBA Live 08 (ps2) to the PC.

Why no Skate? as many things as Madden and NCAA fixed this year there are still a lot of way to go before they are just amazing for me.

Madden 08. It's not perfect but its ability to provide an accurate football simulation can't be denied.

I am a big Madden fan, but the 360 versions haven't done it for me yet. I also really like the 2K basketball games, but the game that I was really impressed with was FIFA 08 and I never play soccer games. I tried it and could recognize that it was fluid and felt balanced. Even though I probably will not play FIFA I will give it its props.

If skate. would have been here I would have voted for it.

Madden wasn't even the best EA football game released this year. Out of the options above I'd go with MLB 2K7, but the truly best sports game is without a doubt NCAA Football 2008.

NBA 2K8. They did a fairly good job of toning down the bullshit that was in 2K7.

Now it's damn hard for me to score 50 points a game with, say, Matt Bonner. No more 40 points, 20 assist games with Beno Udrich, either. Of course, you can play with the sliders and get those results, but if you do, you're lame.

Mario Strikers should have definitely been included. It is a really fun and over the top soccer game. It also has a pretty decent onlie mode, which for the Wii is no small feat.

But seriously, skate is the most groundbreaking sports game to come out this year and MLB '07 the Show is a better game than 2K7 in every sense except graphics.

Definitely the best FIFA game in years and the most fun sports game as well. Be a Pro mode is awesome especially online.

I agree. I have the PS3 version and I love it.
