It'd help if the quote was actually "Best ___ of our time" but it's not. It's more like "It was one of the greatest works of fiction I've seen in my lifetime". He leaves a lot of outs there that make it so it's clear it's only his opinion and makes no mention of how many others he considers to be among the greatest.
