I was going over the game releases for all 3 next gen consoles that is on ebgames.com. There are obviously many more games coming out that is not on this like but I found this interesting.

PS3 has 71 games expected out in 2008

360 has 79 games expected out in 2008

Wii has 52 games expected out in 2008

So Wii has about 20 games less then other consoles. Besides Smash Bros I don't know another game out there that I'd want to buy that I couldn't buy on my other 2 systems. Anyways, my point is that EA stated they never thought there would sales this high for the Wii and basically it's because of gamecube's weak performance. How long does it take to start development of a fresh game(2-3 years????) I was just wondering when we will see studios making a lot games for a system that everyone seems to have or want.

depends on the game and the people making it...some game take 6 months, some games take 6 years

As far as the second part...Nintendo, isn't exactly warm and friendly towards third party developers. They SAY they are trying to change that, but...whatever. Point is, it's not as simple as you're viewing it, there are other factors involved.

Granted Nintendo isn't the friendliest company for 3rd party, but development for the Wii has to be somewhat easier since the system isn't too different than the GameCube.

Just a guess.
