I was a bit iffy about Cradle of Filths last album, Damnation and a Day. That made me hesitant about their new album, Nymphetamine.
But after seeing the video for NYMPHETAMINE (http://www.urbanchaosvideos.com/getfile.php?id=385&mirror=0), I totally changed my mind. Everything fucking rocks about this song and video. The riffs are fucking amazing, and the female singer in the video was a nice change to Dani Filths howling vocals. And if I am not mistaken, this song also appears on the RESIDENT EVIL: APPOCOLYPES OST.

Check this fucker out. WARNING: IT IS A 51 MEG DOWNLOAD. At the time I downloaded it, it only took me seven minutes to download it on my cable motem. Totally worth a watch.

I tried to like it, but i found it, average at best.
After being curious about this band for the longest time, and not getting anything by them, I'm a little more curious by this one song.

They're one of those bands that I think I could tolerate, but I'm not going to go look for em. I think what I just said counteracted that, but.... meh.

And no, i didn't think the chick looked like madonna.

I just listened to samples off their site.
They're not my type of metal band.
:/

Although, with a second listening through the song, Its pretty good.
I think i dug the chick singer, I think that might be my swinging point.

here's a tidbit that dissapointed me:

"Dani: Also, the woman that sings on “Nymphetamine”, her name is Liv Kristine and she used to be in a band called Theatre Of Tragedy. We’re flying her over to do her parts as well. Some people have described this song as being a bit like Kylie Minougue – Strokes – Nick Cave collaboration. Her voice is very distinct, I’m not saying “poppy”, but it’s not operatic in the slightest and we do this call and response thing, so it’s very different for us, but cool nonetheless.

Jono: How did you guys hook up with her for the song?

Dani: Well originally it was Christina from Lacuna Coil who was going to do it but her schedule got in the way. So, she literally cancelled four days before she was due to fly over to the studio. Then we went through a list of replacements that included people like a girl from this Roadrunner band called Dresden Dolls, Lennon, and Tori Amos was even in the running. But there was a demo that arrived from I think a friend of someone that works at Roadrunner Europe who produced the demo for Liv. I listened to it and I was like “Fucking ay, this is brilliant! It doesn’t need anything doing to it! Let’s have it!”. Funny enough, I rang her up to say “This is great, but can you just do this little extra bit at the end.” And she said “I’m glad you liked it, but in four hours I gotta leave to do festival in Turkey.”. I was like “Ah shit!” and I begged and begged and begged. So she actually went into the studio, sung the part perfectly and MP3’ed it over for the approval AND managed to catch a flight all in four hours. It was beyond the call of duty. "

It would have kicked so much ass with Cristina :(

Lacuna Coil is a good band, however I think they will soon fall victims to mainstream. And its quite unfortunate when that happens to most bands. Overall, I am happy that Liv did it. Theatre of Tragedy fuckin rocked.

Like I said, this is the only CoF song I like, and I must say, she did a terrific job.

Now, about LC, You're right, they're gaining a bit of popularity, and I do think they're become a little more mainstream, but, I can only hope they don't change their sound due to it.

What's wrong with that? I would think they would become mainstream becuase they make good music and are popular becuase they are good songs.
