PLAYABLE PS3 at E3 05

TOKYO, July 12 (Reuters) - Electronics and entertainment conglomerate Sony Corp. (Tokyo:6758.T - News) said on Mondayit would have its next-generation PlayStation home console ready to display at next year's E3 video game show, usually held in early May.
"There has been some talk that development for a next generation game cnsole has not been going well, but we will have a playable version ready by next spring," said Sony's game division head Ken Kutaragi.

Sony's next generation game console would be the latest instalment in the company's highly successful PlayStation series.

If this is anything like the "playable" PS2 the first year we saw it, then I'm not too hyped.

For those of you who didn't go, the "playable" PS2 in 1999 was one unit hidden inside of a pyramid, with four TV's on each side of the pyramid. Three of them ran DVD's showing the face texture technology demos (using Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within characters) and one TV running a very early build of Gran Turismo 3. To play GT3, you had to be an important person (such as someone in the gaming press or someone high up in the industry with an invitation.) If you were not one of these people, then you had to stand outside of the railing while the LAPD watched you like a hawk.

well lets hope that things are different when they release the PS3. im waitin for it but it makes me kind of curious on why they were havin development problems. well if it sux, ill get the PSP and get PS3 later.

Not at all, Sony needs to stick with home consoles, Nintendo is the porta-master!! But I still love Sony. They have Dynasty Warriors 4!!!!!:-D :-D
