View Full Version : October 21st, 7:50PM EST - AGR THURSDAY - UK News, Bobby Blackwolf - ARCHIVED
Blackwolf
10-19-2004, 03:31 PM
Archive MP3 (http://www.allgames.com/media/BobbyBlackwolfShow-102104.mp3)
Broadcast Schedule (All Times Eastern):
7:50PM - UK News with Chris "Kropotkin" O'Reagan - week of October 18th
8:00PM - The Bobby Blackwolf Show Episode #003 (Live!)
Sometime Afterwards:00PM - Scot Rubin and Kevin "Hollywood" Pereria (Live, but tentative)
Q. How do I listen?
A. I will be broadcasting on All Games Radio (http://www.live365.com/stations/allgamesradio), the same Live365 stream that Scot used for his broadcasts. It will be a 32k mp3PRO stream, so even dialup users can listen in. You can use WMP, RealPlayer, Winamp, iTunes, or the Radio365 player to listen in.
Q. When does it start?
A. The live stream starts with game music at 7:30PM Eastern/4:30PM Pacific. There are about five minutes of commercials from Live365 before you connect to the stream, so connect early!
Q. How can I participate?
A. One of two ways - I have listened to Scot Rubin for many years on the way he reads chat room comments on the air, and I will be doing the same. I will be monitoring the #allgames.com chat room on GameSurge. You can connect to GameSurge via mIRC and go to #allgames.com, or you can go to the ever popular G4techTV Chat Room (http://chat.g4techtv.com/) and type /join #allgames.com
The other way is that I will be taking callers via a FREE VoIP program called Skype (http://www.skype.com/). All you need is a microphone and speakers. Skype works like any Instant Messaging service. The Skype ID for this show is bobbyblackwolfshow - add it to your Contact List and give me a ring. I will not answer right away, but I WILL answer eventually, right on the air. Be prepared, and keep it ringing!
THIS WEEK ON THE BOBBY BLACKWOLF SHOW:
Gaming in IRAQ - Department of Defense employee Richard Sabol, known as SageClaw online, has agreed to spend some of his R&R time with the Bobby Blackwolf Show to discuss the gaming trends he has seen while being in Iraq for the past 9 months. How much systems cost, where the games come from, who buys what, and maybe even a little bit of talk about Camel Spiders (http://www.snopes.com/photos/bugs/camelspider.asp). You can read some of his stories from Iraq at SageClaw's Corner of the Internet (http://www.sageclaw.com/).
More Half-Life 2 and Halo 2 Discussion - It's been a week since the outrage of the leakage of the Halo 2 French version, are you still as enraged as you were then? Half-Life 2 is also supposedly going to production and will be out the week after Halo 2. Are the multitude of AAA titles coming out going to hurt your wallet, or will it wind up hurting the publishers and developers in the end?
Where's the buzz on San Andreas? - I don't know if it's just being drowned out, but I sure as hell ain't seeing much about GTA's October 26th launch. The radio stations in the game have been announced, but so far no Lazlow sightings have been reported. What's your take?
Plus, your live calls, gamemusic selections, and live chat comments! And as always, feel free to call in and bring a topic that's not listed here. Be sure to tune in Thursday night at 8PM Eastern/5PM Pacific!
BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE!!!
The AGR stream begins at 7:30 with musical selections, but be sure you're tuned in by 7:50 for the broadcast of AGR UK News by Chris "Kropotkin" O'Reagan for your roundup of what's going on across the pond, and to hear the "horrid mispronounciation" (or just dialect differences) we will be making fun of this week. You can get more information at Kropotkin.co.uk (http://www.kropotkin.co.uk).
And then, tentatively after the show, Scot Rubin may go live to discuss HIS view on many things going on in the world, possibly with Captain Immy at his side. You NEVER know what will happen when Scot and Immy go on the air! The Skype ID to call into THIS show is "allgamesradio" - call in with your comments and opinions! (This is tentative and subject to change.)
Thursdays on All Games Radio - Take over the airwaves, they belong to you.

I'm assuming Scot won't be broadcasting if there's a game 7 of the Red Sox, Yankees series.

Never heard of it, Jon...If you want to PM me the stuff I can add it in.
And, InnerLogic, your attitude in that very message is the exact reason why the schedule is the way it is.
Perhaps if you didn't spit on everyone else and act like you were God's Gift to Internet Radio (while sending us something that you admitted SUCKED and then chastise us for even asking for it in the first place) then maybe you would have been a continued part of AGR.
As I told you countless times in private (and I would have left them IN private had you not whined publically) it all depended on the listener reaction. The listeners have spoken. I think going from 28 to 4 in about 10 minutes is a pretty telling statistic. You had your chance.

If you had told me with a PM "Hey, your show was not that good, we did not like it, we don't want it on next week" I would have say "Ok, i understand"
Did i get a message like that? No
I know my show was bad, but of course you did not give me a chance anyway, but if you just said that you did not want it, just tell me. We had done the second show with Blankmage and Circleofpaper (now i have no idea what we are going to do with it, it was quite good)
I admitted the first one was bad because... it was, of course i said it was a test show and that happens, but whatever.
again, i don't care that i'm not on, but you should have told me, so i would not have done more of whats not going to be on.
EDIT:
Perhaps if you didn't spit on everyone else and act like you were God's Gift to Internet Radio
Spit on anyone else? when the hell did i do that? I just did my show, I tried to have fun with it, tried to do something different, it did not work out. I thought i was going to get a second chance (but since you did not tell me.......)

I feel it's a little underhanded to leave Logic out in the cold like this.
Whatever, we'll take our radio business elsewhere. Continue with your fancy "schedules" and "points to discuss".
Thanks for your time gentleman. We wish you luck on your non-profit fronteir.

Dude, no offense, but when you started your first show with, Ok, this show is going to suck, you really didnt give people much reason to want to listen. I turned off the stream after 2 minutes, because I wasn't interested.
Part of doing a radio show, involves keeping your listeners interested. You may think that the show is going to be crap, but you need to make it your job to try your best to keep people listening. Also, you didn't exactly make yourself look too good while you were in chat taking pot shots at Kropotkin's 8 minute news report.

AGAIN, like i said, it was a TEST show, which i was going to fix if i could.
Now that i don't have the chance, it does not matter, but if i was told what was going on, this would not have been so bad.

Good thing his chance is over, in my opinioin. The show was ass the 2 minutes I listened to it and not to mention his constant making fun of Kropotkin's UK gaming news as if he has a clue about being an "on air personality".

I didn't leave him "out in the cold". I never asked for a second show. I told him that I'd let him know if we were going to do something with him this week. He pretty much insisted it was live or nothing, at least in the conversations he had with me. I had absolutely no clue he was going to assume that we wanted to give him a second chance.
In order for me to have left him "out in the cold", I would have had to ask him to submit a new show and then just not air it. I never, ever asked for a second show...He did that all on his own.
If IL wishes to send it into the same place he submitted it before, we'll consider it for a future timeslot.

From what we talked about, I thought that I was going to get the second show, if there was a mix-communication, it happens
I don't want this to drag out (Looks like it don't it! :smt034 ), i thought something different was going to happen, appeantly if you have a misfire show with something you have never done before, it gets hit alot harder.
Looking at it now, there is no point to even bother with my show, i'm better as a caller talking about something then being a host, to see people get mad over such a petty thing, such as not getting a mention in my show, is just not for me i guess.

well, if you ever build up the guts to make another show, here's a hint.
Editing and re-recording.
makes life easier.
anyway, Scot, if the Sox manage to make all of new york get anger management, then you should spend a good 30 minutes cheering about it.
if not, cheer about the sox being the first team with a 3-0 deficeit to go to game 7.

You had no mic. That's why I ask people to test with each other before calling into me. :>
I only get nervous when nobody calls in. That's when I start singing.
I'm getting the archive prepared and will have it up in the morning, Apulo's had a long day at work today.

and when you start singing, i start calling to stop you before there is a riot.
luckily, you listened.
maybe what you can do is host a confrenece call on skype, so you could have more than just yourself doing the show.
but then it wouldnt just be the BBW Show.

Can't do conference calls due to bandwidth limitations with running Skype and Studio365 on the same connection. I'd start dropping packets everywhere and the stream wouldn't sound good to those listening.
If I get a steady stream of callers in the future it will be very seamless.
BTW, The archive is here (http://www.allgames.com/media/BobbyBlackwolfShow-102104.mp3).
