Say a "friend" of mine downloaded a video of some kind and it's actually a BIN file. How the hell do I...does my "friend" get this to play. Is it just garbage?
Google has the answer to all of your BIN related issues.

just say it, you downloaded a movie, who cares.
anyway, a BIN file is a CD image, however it can not be used by itself (because it's a movie, you may be able to use Videolan (www.videolan.org) which can read them directly.) you need a CUE file, you can make one with this (http://www.dslreports.com/r0/download/288918~1e45059000cfc371c157f544cc5aef07/MakeCue.zip)

You can use Alcohol 120% to mount the image on a virtual CD drive, Or burn the image to a cd.
Alcohol has a free trial.

Thanks guys, but ugh, not worth it. Spending the money and expending less effort seems to be my way.
Google did have a lot of info on it BTW.
