Since I now have access to all of the fun stuff that comes with being an admin, it's time to piss people off.

The following reputation comments were left in the past 6 days and are NOT permissible:

"You aren't making sense. Just STFU."
"learn to get stuck by a cock, not a dildo"
"You are a fucking dumbass"
"retard"
"FUCK THE RED SOX FAG"
"hey buddy... yer barking up the wrong tree. get the fuck out you fucking prick"
"fag"
"dont encourage her"
"get out fag"
"I hope you die. kthx"
"in effort to balance out your rep fairly"
":P" (This one is here because this same person gave the same, or slightly different, reps to his friends several times...Or he'd leave the same rep for the same person several times by cycling through his friends.)

I probably could have found more had I gone back farther, but I didn't feel like it. Now, if you find yourself as someone who wrote one of these, you're not in trouble yet. However, from RIGHT NOW, if you write one like this, you will lose your ability to leave reputation forever. You might also find that you have some red bars underneath YOUR name. The good thing is, 98% of you use the rep system the way it was intended. All of these comments were left by only 4 or 5 people.

The rep system is not for you to anonymously insult someone. The rep system is not for you to toy with to get your friends higher rep. The rep system is not for you to hate on someone else's sports team. (For the record, the user who did that had his rep status taken away months ago.) The rep system is a tool, when used by mature individuals, that can be benificial. Scot has plans for the rep feature, which is why he has pushed hard for it to be online and functional.

Starting tonight:

I will be checking the reps daily.

If I see someone who posted a rep like this before post one again, they will suddenly find their rep access taken away, no warnings. (If the user is a new user and it's their first infraction, they will receive a warning via PM first.)

Since I can see how many points were affected, I will credit (or take away) the rep points that were lost (or gained) due to the abuse of the system.

I will not, however, reveal to the receiver who the giver of the rep is.

i both sent and recieved 2 of those.

i apoligize for this, and will gladly wear the DoucheBadge for a while because of this.

one's i sent:

"hey buddy... yer barking up the wrong tree. get the fuck out you fucking prick" that one was to a guy who was saying RED SOX SUCK OMG THE CURSE IS STILL THERE!

wrong place for that.

since i have red-sox related images in my sig and avy, i recieved this:

"FUCK THE RED SOX FAG"

and since somebody dosent remember funny quotes from futurama, i got this:

"You aren't making sense. Just STFU."

in response to that, i sent the first one i listed to them.

i am very sorry for this immature behavior, and i hope i stop and that other people stop.

this kinda seems wierd, since its BW's first day on the job. hopefully listening to the BBW Show wont be mandatory.

I have to admit, at least one or two of those are mine. I don't usually give bad rep or senseless rep, so it's all a matter of controlling myself now.
Edit: I think three of those are mine. :( Blackwolf, thanks for bringing that to my attention. I kind of feel like an asshole now, because some of that rep, good or bad, was given to people who are my buddies on here. I guess I get upset sometimes, and I am going to fix that....

Thank you. Although you didn't exactly use my guidelines(you suck! :razz: ) I'm glad to see something if finally being done. And hey if this actually works out I might even start using the rep system again. I haven't given any rep good or bad in close to around 2 months.

BTW, if we receive any "stupid reps" shall we PM you or not bother since you say you'll be looking at them daily?

I'm not looking at "stupid reps" or "blank reps" - even if we put in the hack to force someone to write in a comment, there's nothing stopping them from going "..." or ":P" or "-" or anything like that. I'm not going to get that technical, because as Scot said, it's sad that it's come to this point.

All I want to put a stop to is the anonymous insulting and the artificial bumping of your friend's rep just cuz you feel like it. The insults are actually by people who wouldn't say any of this stuff publically on the forums, so I'm hoping that now if they know they really AREN'T anonymous then it will stop. I'm looking, right now, for just the idiotic namecalling and the "death wishes". And I'll be checking it, so I'll see it.

No. Reputation should only be used about the content of the message itself.

That includes whining that the avatar/sig is NWS. Instead of leaving rep, PM me about it.

Thanks for bringing that up, I hadn't thought of it.

People are still leaving negative rep.

They're just not saying "I HOPE YOU DIE FAG" in that rep, which is pretty much what I asked for.

You can still give bad rep, you just need a solid reason for it. Either that, or like I said, my reputation comment blocker is really working. :)
