So close I can taste it.
I will not take anything for granted. We must win one more game, and it won't be easy. We should know. But I believe. I truely believe.

In some ways I am almost, and I do say ALMOST, hoping they lose the next two games just so they could win in Fenway. It would just mean so much much more if they won it at home, both for them and the fans. But of course I would rather have them win tomorrow away then take the chance of having lost two and winning it at home. Even if they were to lose the series I just am hoping this type of teamwork and sportsmanship and winning stays with them next year and the year after that and forever basically. Long Live The Idiots! :D

i hope their last winning game is triumphant, and I also hope that there will be laser battles and knife fights.

It's not over yet.
I'd love a sweep, but it would leave me with one huge regret. If recent history is any indication, the championship parade takes place 3 days after victory. With a victory tomorrow, the parade would probably be Saturday, and it's just my fucking luck that Saturday is my sisters wedding.
I still whole-heartedly desire victory tomorrow, and I hope that everything else just works itself out. But I'm not counting my chickens yet.
Edit: Just read that if they win tomorrow, the parade will be Friday. Please God, make it so. We must sweep! No mercy! Kill, kill, kill! Sweep the leg!
2nd Edit: Now I'm hearing Saturday. :( Oh well, whatever, just win!

I was going to make a thread like this, but I didn't want to jinx them. But honestly, so far this is an absolute ass whipping. It ain't even close. Imagine if the Sox not only won the Series, but swept it.

Not that I want them to lose (far from it) but it would be interesting for it go to 7, just in the interest of drama.
I miss hockey so much. :(
Great column by Martin Fennelly (http://rays.tbo.com/rays/MGB6HYJZS0E.html)
Frankly, I was pulling for a little more agony. Sox fans need agony. It is like mother's milk. Now mother is about to run off with the milkman.
True, there would be a bright side to a sweep. All those Red Sox poets can quit putting the team's futility to verse. And do we really need any more Ben Affleck quotes?
Yes, the quicker the Sox win, the quicker we can stop listening to Sox fans tell us how long they've been Sox fans and how great granddad had his ashes scattered on the warning track at Fenway. Sox devotees need true success as quickly as possible, because, frankly, they're getting on our nerves.
For instance: Fah, fah north of us, people are actually comparing the Sox to the U.S. hockey team's miracle at Lake Placid in 1980. Naturally, the Yankees were the Soviets. Boston's 12-year-old GM, Theo Epstein, said all that was left was beating Finland (St. Louis).
Earth to Sox followers: As ragamuffin a bunch as these Sox are, the team's payroll is $131 million. I'm pretty sure the Olympic team made less. And David was probably lucky to get $50 million for bringing down Goliath.
So relax.
Better yet, suffer.
Just one more night. Dream of Bucky Dent. See Bob Gibson staring you down. Follow the flight of the ball after Tony Perez crushed Bill Lee's floater in '75. Feast your eyes, one last time, at that ball rolling toward Billy Buck.
This could be your last chance.
Only once in baseball history has any team come back from 3-0. On the other hand, it was just a week ago. Hey, if the Sox can do that to the Yankees, why can't they do it to themselves? Take heart, sufferers! Maybe The Curse left one last wake-up call. It can fall apart. Yeah, you'll be nervous wrecks all afternoon.
Hey! I said quit snoring!
LOL..

To be honest I'm not even sure exactly what thats supposed to mean. I don't know if that guy is taking a deep breath or just masturbating. Although they would probably be one in the same if it was the latter.
I can't wait for tonight though to see the Sox go and try to make hostory. Well kind of history. I mean no team has ever come back from being down 30 in the Penant game, then imagine if they swept the World Series in 4 games. I'm sure there has been, but I haven't seen anything on it, but how many and when was the last World Series sweep? And Except for a tie in game one the Cards have never led or even really been close. Now thats some good baseball if you ask me.
The last one was the Yankees over the Braves in 1999 (the Yanks also swept the Padres the year before). So not that long ago. 17 sweeps total and the Yankees have had 8 of them. :p
