I can't believe that I have been lucky enough to be alive to see this happen, even though I am truly a San Francisco Giants fan.

The RED SOX WIN!

THE RED SOX WIN!

THE RED SOX WIN!

THE CURSE OF THE BABE IS NO MORE!

You know... 86 years and a sweep. Somehow I expected it to be more dramatic.

What a way to break the curse.
Eight straight wins.

I expected the Sox to win, but a sweep against the Cards was stunning.

Dude it does not fucking matter where you're from. If you are a passionate baseball fan, you will be crying about now. I'm a life long Giants fan, but I find this to be the best thing I have ever seen in my entire life. I know what its like to be cursed as well. The Giants have a Curse of their own that dates back to 1957-- the curse of San Fran (doesn't hold a candle to the curse of the Babe of course but its still a curse). I know the pain of blowing a world series (especially with a 5-2 lead going into the bottom of the 9th in game 6.) I have been constently belittled by Dodger fans here my entire life (don't forget about the Giants- Dodgers rivalry, which has span both ends of the nation and for over a century).

But anyways, now its about time that Barry Bonds and the Giants get a World Championship. Then we can tackle the Curse of the Billy Goat for those poor cubs!

Dude, I said 57 cause that's when the Giants Moved from NEW YORK (hehe go figure bringin em' up now)- hence "the curse of San Fran", because they have never won the series since they moved to Frisco.

Anyways, fuck it, it's all about the Sox for the rest of the offseason. I hope Scot doesn't try to drive home tonight...lol. Go celebrate- everybody!

*wonder's how many of these people really cared about the Red Sox before seeing Scot on G4tv.com*

Good for the Red Sox this year. Maybe now by the end of NEXT season we can stop hearing about the curse. Finally we will stop hearing about how there is one, and hopefully by the end of next season we'll stop hearing about how there was one and then "last year they killed the curse in record fashion, first by coming back from a 3-0 hole against their bitter rivals The Yankees, and then sweeping the Cardinals in the World Series." A damn exciting series for any sports fan. I'm very happy for the Boston Red Sox, but I'm still not going to act like a fan of them. ;)

oh and I mean no offense by my first statement. I'm genuinely curious.

If we had your payroll we would have done it by now. See Diamondbacks, Arizona.

Your owners need to spend more, and fans need to show up more.

And I wouldn't be sure about that, either. You still have to spend money wisely.

Curious about Rays' ownership, I found this article: http://www.weeklyplanet.com/2004-09-29/cover.html
Some funny stuff there.

2000: The St. Petersburg High School marching band, scheduled to play the national anthem for the final home game, cancels because the front office insists they buy tickets.

lol.

Haven't really been into Baseball since 1994, but did watch a bit of the playoffs. When the Red Sox were down 0-3 I thought here we go again, don't these guys have any heart? Then sure enough, they showed they had more than anybody else.

Good for the Red Sox and Red Sox Nation, hope you really enjoy this a realize how damn hard it is. I was an A's fan back when I watched, some of the Super Teams we had, and could only win one. So enjoy this until you have a reason to enjoy another one.

As for off season moves, I think it would be best if you guys kept Lowe and let Pedro go, but maybe I'm wrong. Lowe just seems to have a real mean streak in him on the mound, kind of like Dave Stewart.

Just as John said you fans need to show up. One of, if not the biggest, reason the Devil Rays don't have as big a payroll as us is because your fans don't give a damn. I'm not sure how big your ballpark is, but Fenway is the smallest in the entire MLB. Sure the tickets are the most expensive, but Fenway only holds 35,000 or so people. Whenever the Sox play the Rays down Tampa there are always tons and tons of empty seats. Like half to 3/4 of the seats are empty. Why do you think you have the smallest payroll? Its because no one goes to the games so the team can't make any money. Hell the MLB was thinking of basically shutting down the Devil Rays because its going downhill so fast.

Although I am a Yankees fan, I am glad that the Sox won the World Series, mainly because they beat my team and my friends who are Sox fans won't blame losses on "The Curse of the Bambino" anymore.

Congrats to the Sox and their die-hard fans.
