Appleseed

Came out on DVD in Japan 2 days ago, and its simply an awesome looking movie, problem is no English subtitles D:

So for the most part I just found myself watching the first 7 minutes (no dialog just shooting) and the other gunfights afterwards. Once this movie hits overseas with at least subtitles (probably dubbed) I'm sure it's going to be worth it, but if you already read the manga then you can know a fair abit about whats going on in the movie, despite its story line being slightly different from the mangas story. Anyway here are some shots to tie us over until January for U.S. release, then hopfully a Canadian one soon :P

I enjoyed the one distributed by U.S. Manga back in the last 80s.

They been working on the new one for a while, they showed off some "tech demos" on a dvd in 2002 which look nothing like what we have now. There was confirmation a while ago that a trilogy (or at least another sequel) is in the works, can't wait for that :D

This definitely pushes the manga another level. Plus the classic film that was released awhile back, it was alright for its time. But now, dang. Its gonna be pretty sweet to see where this leads to in future sequels.

Just finished watching the movie again but with English subtitles, and uh... the plot started out decent enough, then started to evolve into something that only the Japanese could think of. Just glad all of the action scenes made up for weird plot twist near the end.
