OMG I love Gamecube, but mine died *sob* Has this happened to anyone else? It says that it can't read discs any more after playing a game for 5 mins it's like it has a virus or something... grr I've only had it 11 months too!! >.<
...Urge to play Soul Calibur II rising...
:( I miss it.

Trying cleaning the dust out. I can't believe how many people think their systems "died" when it turns out they just never dust around their systems. Just take better care of it and everything will be fine. Theres no reason for it to die after just 11 months. So try dusting and making sure the disks are clean and have no scratches, and if that doesn't work then use your warranty. It is a 12 month warranty I believe so you can get a brand new one then.

get one of those cans filled with compressed air.
they're as useful as duct tape.

Haha, I wish. The only semi-dangerous thing you can do with a can of compressed air is give yourself frostbite. If you hold the can upsidedown and spray for a while, the compressed air turns into a frigid liquid. My brother sprayed his cat on the asshole with the cold air, and it had to go to the vet. So don't do that.
Anyway yeah, just dust it with compressed air, clean all the discs, make sure the lens in the Gamecube is clean, etc. If nothing helps, I'm pretty sure the warranty is a year like Arandar said.

We have seriously abused my friends one, we knocked it off a 9ft shelf 3 times in a row. and then we spilled soda in it, and then we stepped on it like 10 times(none of this was on purpose -_-)
still works great, i think some of them are just defective. its not just crappy parts like the PS2 anyway...

Hmmm, I've had mine for over 2 years and that never happened to me. I don't play it was much though so that might be why. Soul Calibur II is awesome though. :smt066

yeah, i ruined a pair of pants when it started spraying liquid.
you got to shake it up A LOT.
they get fucking cold within the first 30 seconds of usage.
i need to go buy some more. i'm cleaning my fans and the inside of my PC when i get more ram and an new DVD-rom drive for christmas.
i used this on the xbox a few months ago, and it helped alot. mine stopped reading disks a few days ago, and i used a can, and it works fine now.

I have a dead Cube. It is only dead, because it was in a dusty area. The repairs costed the same as a new Cube, so I got a platinum one.
