Holy fuck. I hate Mario games, but Jesus Christ I love "The Thousand-Year Door." The original N64 version got old really fast for me, but this one is just excellent. I got this game a few days before Christmas, and I'm almost done. I'm about 35 hours into the game, and I've been using a FAQ speeding through the game. That should give everyone an idea of the length of this damn game. I'm doing just enough to get me through the game, and 35 hours down and I'm about to get the last Crystal Star. Holy shit.

Anyway, you guys just gotta do yourself a favor and pick up this game. I'm usually hard to get emotions out of, no game has ever got real genuine emotions out of me, except for this game. At some points, I would chuckle. Other times I would feel real genuine sadness. There's just too many positives to discuss.

Once he's beaten it I'll be sure to borrow it.
The first one was one of my favorites for the N64 so I can't wait to play it

I played the first Paper Mario and I loved it(useless note: I beat the game on the day Dale Earnhart(sp?) died) and this one is even better. The whole audience addition to it is awesome, so is the whole paper concept.

Scratch that, I just got the 2nd Crystal. This game is really addicting.

I got this for Christmas. It's a fun game, and I actually enjoy the cutscenes. I just finished Chapter 2 and I'm back in Rogueport to do some more troubles.

My only gripe with the game is, back when I first started reading about Paper Mario, every source was calling it "the sequel to Super Mario RPG!" Since SMRPG is my favorite game of all time, I nearly shit my pants in anticipation. Then when I got it, fired it up in my N64, and started playing.. I almost cried. It's NOTHING like SMRPG! And I still hold a slight grudge against the Paper Mario games for that.

Grudges aside, I know this is a good series, I just personally wish they went about making them a little differently.

I got the game for Christmas, and I love it. It's easy to get into, it looks great, the dialouge (sp?) is hilarious (especially that one kid in Petalsburg that's always talkin about games made by Intelligent Systems, the developers).

I'm on my way getting the second crystal right now, I just got Flurrie.

What I love about this game mainly is the sense of humor. Not many games can bust funny jokes, but PM2 manages to do so. In one of the later chapters, your "arch-nemesis" of sorts does an aside to the camera. He says something like "Hey! You! In front of the TV!" and then tells you not to tell Mario a secret he has. Then your parter will ask him what he means by that. Frankly also does an aside to the camera where he tells the person in front of the TV to pay attention to what he's about to say.

I feel ya Dan. SMRPG is one of my top 5 favorite games of all time, and while the Paper Mario series is quite good, it doesn't out-do SMRPG. I guess Paper Mario is the closest Mario will come to being like SMRPG, so I can see why they said this game will rival it.

I don't know, I'm just seriously loving the shit out of this title. There have been occassions where I just went around looking for flaws in the game, and I honestly couldn't find a single one. I love every aspect of this game, especially the sense of humor and the dialogue. PM2 may not have voiceovers for the dialogue, but the script is written so well that voiceovers wouldn't do the game justice. Since the words and letters of the dialogue can be "spelled out" in varying speeds, each character has their own "voice" already.

The characters are great other than that "booby cloud lady" she just suxxors. I think I have fantasized about Goombella once or twice. LOL jk

I loved the "I love you 100 times" part of the game. I didn't think I would honestly have to watch this poor dude say "I love you" 100 times over and over to his girlfriend, but I was sorely mistaken. I eventually just started mashing the B Button to zip through it all, but that shit was hilarious.

I'll borrow it from my cousin at some point since I ended up borrowing Paper Mario from him. Paper Mario was real fun. Heh General Shy was the best. "You sir will pay". What I mam confused about though is that I thought in Paper Mario there was supposed to be a guy that goes "I have fury!". I though that was the game everyone talked about that line being from? Apparently I'm wrong, but I know its that and the "All your base are belong to us" line that is the most qouted. Here at least from what I have see.

Wait until it jumps up on the Hot Dog stand and falls asleep, go over to the Smoothie Place, push the blue ! button(if you haven't already), jump up to the Paper Airplane thing, then just fly to the roof.

You just barely make it, but Yoshi fucking rocks once he's hatched.

Yeah- I've done all that. I've made it as far as I can go in the Glitz Pit without Yoshi, but he still hasn't hatched from his egg. Is there something I'm missing?

Once you get to the Armored Harriers, you really have no choice but to run away. He should hatch by the time you get back to the locker room.

Yeah Dan, if you fight the Armored Harriers they're basically impossible. The only real option is to run from battle. When you get back to your locker room, the egg will be gone, but Yoshi will be in the room.

Sankon: I don't think you can. I wish I had a black Yoshi with red hair. Instead, I have a pink Yoshi with equally-gay-colored hair. I named him "Fucker."

Actually Larry, it's quite possible to get the color Yoshi you desire. A kid at GameFAQs, named The Great Gonzales no less, wrote this out:

Alright folks, you've heard that there's different colored Yoshis but you may be confused about how to get the color you want for your partner. Well fear not, for I provide here a complete guide for how the game determines colors and how to control the one you get.

First, I will list the 7 Colors, in the order in which they Cycle:

Green Yoshi. Red Spikey Hair, Red Shoes, Orange Pants.

Red Yoshi. Green Spikey Hair. Green Shoes. Black Pants.

Blue Yoshi. Pink Spikey Hair. Pink Shoes. Sky Blue Pants.

Orange Yoshi. Blue Spikey Hair. Blue Shoes. Green Pants.

Pink Yoshi. Green E. Gadd Hair. Pink Shoes. Red Pants.

Black Yoshi. Red Spikey Hair. Yellow Shoes. Grey Pants.

White Yoshi (actually a very very light blue). Yellow Curly Hair. Red Shoes. Pure White Pants.

Now to explain How to Cycle Through the Colors

At any given moment, the Yoshi in your egg is a certain color. After a certain amount of time has passed in the game, your Yoshi will change color within the egg

So to put it simply, the way to get a different color is to waste enough time.

Here is what you should do
----------------------------------

Get the Egg, fight your way up until you are 11th place, (next battle is the Iron Clefts), then Save at the block just outside

Go fight the Iron Clefts, Run Away on turn 1 (You can Tattle first if you want)

See what Color you get. Now you know what Color was in the egg when you saved.

Reset. You know what Color is in your egg now. So simply wait underneath the save block, doing absolutely nothing, until enough time has passed for you to get the appropriate color you want. Count in Minutes, do this by pausing the game, and waiting for the timer to tick off as many minutes as needed.

Here are the Minutes that need to pass to get each Yoshi, starting with Green Yoshi.

Green Yoshi + 6 minutes = Red Yoshi
Red Yoshi + 3 minutes = Blue Yoshi
Blue Yoshi + 2 minutes = Orange Yoshi
Orange Yoshi + 4 minutes = Pink Yoshi
Pink Yoshi + 3 minutes = Black Yoshi
Black Yoshi + 1 minute = White Yoshi
White Yoshi + 1 minute = Green Yoshi

Now it's important to not overshoot. If you have a green Yoshi, waiting 6 minutes only gets you Red Yoshi if you're at the start of his timer. If he's near the end, 6 minutes will get you Blue or maybe even Orange Yoshi. Because of this, save every few minutes and check what color you have, by fighting the iron clefts and running.

The Cycle takes 20 minutes to complete. And now you know. The end.

I Love Boss Battle's....It's my favorite part of RPG's. I enjoyed the boss battle against the owner of the Glitz Pit.....He got all big on me....but I used Yoshi's Egg attack to shrink him down some....then I used Power Punch to make Mario as big as him....

I finally got to PM2 on my Gamefly Q and started playing it a few nights ago. Just got the second crystal star.

One of the better games I've played in a while (outside of Katamari Damacy, of course.) My gf and I were laughing like hell when the Bowser SMB1 clone came up...This game has a lot of funny bits.

Although I do find it weird that Peach takes showers and is spied on by computers...
