It ripped off concepts from previous works of sci-fi and combined them together. Has anyone realized this?

I think everyone realizes that. It doesn't prevent it from being a good movie.

i don't care if it did or not, it was so overhyped that i have to this day refused to watch any of the movies.

Same here... i saw half of the first one around when it came out and that's enough for me. Face it, these movies arn't that great. :x

Whether it's trendy to think they are good or not, I still enjoyed all of them.

And that's honestly what matters to me.

All Sci-Fi does that pretty much. If anyone watches Stargate SG-1 ever notice how the Gou'old(sp?) recon droid thing looks basically exactly like a Probe Droid from Star Wars? Its just the way things are done pretty much. I mean if people didn't rip each other off then we wouldn't really have any new movies, books, tv shows, comics, video games, or anything else really. The key though is to just borrow some things and make it your own and not just blatantly rip something off and use it exactly as you got it. Like how each Sci-Fi show/movie trys to come up with a different term for going into hyperspace.
