Good, as in serviceable? I've used the Logitech Internet Chat headset that was a free pack-in with my Unreal Tournament 2K4: Special Edition with no complaints. I think they run $10-15 or so in the stores.

i need a new headset too. how's the sound quality on those, and do they hurt your ears after a while?

I had those before I sold them. The sound quality was fine and no complaints about the mic. My problem is the little bastards drilled a hole into my ears. Logitech makes a set that are cheap like the UT2K4 ones but they are regular on top of the head headphones with a mic. I bet the quality will be close if not the same and they are cheap.

I thought the sound quality on the UT2004 headsets were terrible, or at least comparing them with any other set of headphones in the house, which are about 1/4th the price of the Logitech one. Better to go with a decently priced Plantronics headset.

I bought this set. They are the best set I've ever had. Very comfortable, great sound. Worth the investment.

I have the Plantronics Audio .90. The sound quality is very good and it is comfortable. It is somewhat bulky, but they may have slimmed it down a little, or the picture on the site is just wrong. For $34.99, it is a great buy. http://plantronics.com/north_america/en_US/products/cat640035/cat1430032/prod440020
