How is "about:blank" spyware? As far as I know, that's just what your homepage when you open your browser will be. It takes you to a blank page so that your browser won't barf on loading a site when it's trying to open. Maybe I'm behind with the times, or you reformatted for no reason.

No, it's definitely spyware. I had that crap on my old computer. Getting rid of it is a long process. I just googled it and got rid of it.

EDIT: i think this is what it sorta permantly changes your default page to when coolwebsearch/coolwww gets messed up/partially corrupted.. so it might kinda be a side effect of spyware.. but about blank by itself is not spyware.
