I love the storyline, but most of the characters are boring. The only ones I like is Major Kusanagi and Batou (sp?). The opening song is pretty badass though.

Evangelion. It has the best story and characters in any anime.. Hell, I think it may be the best story on TV.

besides the obvious (being eva), my favorites tend to swing back and forth constantly.

so besides eva (which i really, really enjoyed), i rather enjoyed fma, azumanga, and kare kano, among many others.

going on a tangent, kare kano could've ended up much much longer and more successful if they had a budget larger than 500 yen, and if they kept hideaki anno as director.

but right now i'm watching bleach, cowboy bebop, school rumble, and finishing up love hina. so in a month those'll probably be my favorites, heh.

going on another tangent, my favorite music in an anime is without a doubt, evangelion. phenominal stuff. all 800,000 soundtracks.

I just watched Steam Boy with my family and loved it.

I loved Rahxephon, but didn't like Evangelion, the whiny little kid never had any development throughout the whole series. People just like it because it tries to hide it's crappy storyline under vague wording and psudo-philosophy. They must think something which doesn't make any sense but still seems like it's trying to be smart must be great.

I liked Last Exile.

Cowboy Beebop, both the movie and the series, was excellent.

In the area of manga, I love Suikoden III and Battle Angel Alita: Last Order for the art. The second is a huge improvement above the origional series.
