Saddest, for me, has to be Wolfwood.

Worst character death is a close three-way tie amongst Hayoa Kakizake/Ben Dixon and Roy Fokker of Macross/Robotech and Ryu Jose of Mobile Suit Gundam. Each of those deaths were dealt with pretty poorly. Granted, the shows were aimed at younger children.

I thought Spike's death wasn't done very well. Well the whole last episode actually.
It just felt so rushed.

The reason was because of the message. "Its all a dream" it goes fast and its not long and drawn out. He went there to kill Vicious that was all.

It seemed as though they were setting up some great deep plot and then just realized they ran out of time and just finished it as fast as possible.

I just saw an extremely sad death in Z Gundam. :(

I was totally expecting it, based on the formula of the kind of series it is, but it was real sad the way they did it. The parallel death from Gundam 0079 was done much more poorly.

Holy shit. So I finished Z Gundam this morning. Talk about a bodycount. Now I know why they call him "Kill 'em All" Tomino.

So there were a lot of shocking deaths throughout the end of the series. Some very cool, some very sad.
