I'm just curious if any of you have do any PC game modding or level creation? I've done some CS levels in the past, nothing that great. Anyone else?

I havent, but I would love too. Im good in photoshop, so I could do textrues and stuff. and character model textures... regular textures are easy, you just take a photo... or find free ones, but texturing charecters/monsters kind of things would probably be my forte... and maybe soem level design if I practaced, because im used to working in 3d with cinema 4d. Why are you asking anyways? you planning on getting something going ;)

I built some of my own levels on Time Splitters 2 for my GC...:) What? Thats not what you were talking about? Oh :smt022 .

Heh anyway I don't really get that stuff. Like whenever I try to learn about computers or something I just end up getting more confused then I started off. I know how to use one and all that but modding it or doing fancy stuff is ummm strange? How do you learn about all this stuff anyway? Well learn about it and not have your head explode from to much information and getting confused? It would be nice because then I could actually know what graphics card I should get when I have money to play some of the RTS games I want.

Hmm well you learn from experience... it takes time. Also if you want to also play games liek half-life 2 and doom3, you will want a higher end video card, for the rts's that are out such as warcraft 3 I would get an inexspensive geforce 4 128mb card, but you might want to go higher end just incase. Hope that helps, and www.newegg.com has great prices on video cards.

Well since I'm not much of a PC gamer all I care about is RTS, city building, and Sims type games. Basically just games that are point and click with the only use of the keyboard being to hold control to highlight multiple things or hitting the space or return bar every so often. Nothing like an FPS, RPG, or adventure game.

Right now I have a 128 Rage Pro I think its called and basically I'm looking for one not to expensive to be able to play the Age of Empires series, Age of Mythology, Rise of Nations, and The Sims. I downloaded the AoE demos and they work for me, but the RoN and AoM demos don't work on my computer, I'm guessing its because of the graphics card since we have 512 RAM. Also I downloaded the original The Sims and that works fine. So as you can see I don't need something really high end, just more up to date and not very expensive since I won't be playing very many games. If you could help me out, since I don't know this stuff, that would be great. Thanks.

search google for 128 Rage Pro and find out who makes it, then see if there are new drivers you dont have. If there arent any, or you get them and it doesnt help, I would get this card http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=14-140-029&depa=1

I'd like to do something for HL2 when it comes out. I could always use someone for textures if you'd like to help ;) I'm not planning anything major right now, just toying with some ideas.

I'm really looking into creating a HL2 mod. I have played around with Valve Hammer Editor before, and I got the hang of it. I might make a mod with The Matrix.

You wanna make a Matrix type mod? There was a mod for HL that was just like the Matrix. I can't remeber the name. It was the Professionals or something like that. It was pretty cool, you could do flips and stuff, and fly and jump really high.

Yes, It is. I used to play it a lot. Haven't played much PC games lately.

But yeah. We are going to try and make one. Hopefully if we do, It will get our company name out "M4dTrix Games". Maybe some of you guys can beta test it and give us feedback.

Half-life 2 Mod tools look very promising and I myself look very forward to be working with them a lot. :)

More the merrier!
I want to make a single player and multiplayer mod. I'm really into single player mods, especially with the use with the HL2 engine, because of the awesome AI.

Sounds cool, I just hope you realize how much work there is in creating a mod.
I only helped creat a mod by testing it and some mapping, that's it, and that was hard, but then again, we wanted it perfect. :p
