PC game preorders and free give-aways

Lately more and more games have been coming with special giveaways when you preorder them (Doom 3, HL2, Sims 2 and countless others). Does a free gift persuade you to pre order?

yeah preorder, get the free stuff, then get the money back a couple weeks later...

doesnt persuade me, I pre-order big games anyways just to ensure I get it when it hits shelves.

Wait what is The Sims 2 giving away for free for a preorder? If their giving away something good then I might just go preorder that. I hope my graphics card is good enough though since I read things are going to be way more in depth this time around.

As for me I only preorder once in a while. I never really was much of a PC gamer, but now that my comp is better and I have played some demo for some games I'm going to try and get more into PC gaming. Well at least RTS and The Sims type games. I would only be a point and click PC gamer, I hate keyboard and mouse controls compared to a nice console controller.

Bah screw it then. I mean if their not really going to give away anything good then whats the point? Especially if you have to preorder it online or something. At least when you could preorder the Wind Waker they gave out something really good. Well even if not everyone thought it was really good(damn Water Temple on the Master Quest!) it was at least good. On this who cares? I mean wow developers interviews, most people usually put that in the game now to unlock as it is.

I just looked at the specs for it though and I don't think I have a good enough memory card. This really sucks since I have become a little obsessed with The Sims original the past week. Oh well maybe I can get one thats cheap, like under a 100 bucks or less, but will be good enough for all the RTS and Sims type games I want to play.

Barely get any. Here in Maine the cheap bastards take it for themselves. :(

But yeah, I always like free swag with the games, but it doesn't persuade me.

No not really, I don't ever really preorder games anyway, I don't remember the last time a game came out and I couldn't get it on release day...

Depends on how much it costs to preorder. I preordered Doom 3 for 10 cdn and got a poster and pewter figurine (which looked ALOT bigger in the ad ;P), so it wasnt so bad.
