What's your favorite Comic Book? Whose your favorite Hero or Villan? What is your favorite storyline? Whose your favorite Artist?

If you're getting into Comic Books as an adult what are BASICS, what do you need to read first-- what are you going to WANT to read?

Here's a thread to discuss, one of my favorite ART-FORMS, The Comic Book...

(And for whoever hasn't read The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay and likes Comics...Shame...Shame...Shame-- It's a book that should be read in English and History classes, it's SO fascinating!)

I haven't bought a comic book in awhile.

However, this preview of upcoming Marvel stuff is really getting me re-interested in it again. Marvel Nemesis is apparently going only to be $2.99 per issue (of the 6 issue mini-series) Which seems like a steal (although I've forgotten the prices of normal comic books over the ages)

Spider-Man: Breakout! has gained my interest, too.

Who knows, maybe I'll get back into comic books again.

I like Hellboy comics a lot. My favorite book is Seed of Destruction. It is way better than the movie adaptation, even though I do like the movie a lot. I used to be into X-Men and the Uncanny X-Men a lot. I collected those comics around the time the "Hunt for Xavier" happened. Those were awesome comics. I think I'm going to pick up some Sin City comics soon. I was really impressed by all the characters and world of Sin City presented in the movie.

I looked on Barnes and Noble's website and only saw 7 graphic novels, are there more than that?

Ya know, I completely forgot about Miller's Ronin. That was some great artwork.

I wish they'd turn Alan Moore's Batman: The Killing Joke into a movie with Alan Cumming as the Joker. I mean he even likes like the real guy in the comic.

I borrowed two Hellboy comics and Watchmen from my local library. The two Hellboy books are "The Right Hand of Doom" and "Wake the Devil." I read all of "Wake the Devil," and I am halfway through "The Right Hand of Doom." Both very good books. I'm going to start Watchmen very soon.
