Sheesh, what's next? Track & Field? Figure Skating? Ballroom Dancing? CURLING?!

Nascar ain't a sport. I make left turns in my car all day, you don't see me calling myself an "athelete".

I think, instead, we should just have "Other Sports" or maybe someplace called "The Bar" where we discuss stuff that's not on topic other places...

You have no right to say that. You try to live through crashes almost every sunday. Your lucky youll walk out of that car. Heck most people cant sit in a car that hot for 3 hours. Im sorry but i disagree its a sport and its MUCH MUCH more than just turning left....They have road courses that make you turn right btw.

Touched a nerve, did I? I do that a lot, I live in the deep south where racing is king. There's a racetrack about 10 miles from my apartment called "Dixie Speedway" and sometimes I can hear the engines on a clear weekend afternoon. I've heard every possible defense to "is racing a sport or not" but hey, bumper cars aren't a sport either last I checked, and I don't feel like an athelete when I'm going around our circular highway trying to dodge cars who are recklessly driving as well.

Is it a hobby? Sure. Is it entertainment? Yeah. Have there been horrible accidents? Yes. Have there been triumphant victories? Yup.

Are they atheletes? I personally don't think so.

Disclaimer: My views on the subject have no bearing on the initial suggestion of if it should have a forum or not. I don't make those type of decisions.

You make a point, I believe this more though. Racing is a sport but the people in the car arent athletes. When you say althete to me racing does not go through my head.

A sport is a game in which physical exertion is a big part of it. Track & Field, there games, and require lots of physical exertion. Curling- its a game, and if you have ever done it, you would know it taekes a lot of body strength, and balance, therefore it is a sport (and it is very fun, I suggest you try it sometime). Nascar... is more debatable. Yes, it is physically demanding, and mentally too, but not on the same level as many other "sports". Overall I think it is a sport, but I use the word sport somewhat loosley when I say it. Anyways, don't get the wrong idea, I still respect your opinion blackwolf, I just dont fully agree with it.

LMAO. Well they are millionaires, I'm going out on a limb and saying you're not. If it's that easy, go make your self some money, early retirement.

Also define: Athelete, is that a latin form of the word?

Racing forum would be nice, we will have to tolerate those who hate for the sake of it, but it would nice.

If being a millionaire is the only requirement for being an athlete (I've been spelling it wrong, go me!) then Bill Gates is the best athlete in the world.

There are many things that are physically demanding that aren't sports. Yardwork, for instance. Where's the Ultimate Lawnmower Championships?!?! Extreme Weedpulling!! Rawr!!

If a forum was made, trust me, I won't be in there taunting...I've said my piece in this thread, and it doesn't need to be brought up again. I probably just wouldn't go in there unless there was something that needed modding skillz, which would force me to be unbiased anyway and just tell the person to not post Underage Porn Taking Place On A NASCAR Vehicle...

I didn't say $ was the only requirement for being an athlete, and there is no way you could have understood it like that without a very liberal stretch. You implied that making left turns in your car was like the racing Nascar does(excluding road course I assume, that must be like a drive across town) . I said go make some money for something that is so easy for you.

As for the need of a Mod in that forum. I would actually ask to be that, hell I'd even ask Raw to come do it, we get along sooooo well, but he does know Nascar.
