Im so surprised they are doing this bad. The Yankees are usually the top team in their division every year, but this year they are fighting (and currently losing the fight) for 3rd. Do you think they will turn it around and make it to the play-offs? I dont think they will anymore.

If these Yankees don't get things turned around -- and fast -- drastic changes could be ahead.

This is out of an ESPN article. Looks like the Yankees might be buying themselves a new team again.

I know a thread has already been started about it, but it was in the start of May. So this is like the updated version.

I hope they dont make the playoffs, it would make a nice little ALCS match betweent the Red Sox and my White Sox

They're only 6.5 games back in the division. The hole isn't as deep as it was earlier.

It's ridiculous how you could field such a porous team with that kind of payroll. They're a game under .500 now. They'll need to play .600 baseball the rest of the way to make it to 90 wins, and even that probably won't be enough to pass Baltimore or Boston.

The sox reversed the curse. 85 years till the yankees win again.

There's still plenty of time in the season and they could try to make a trade to help them. ya never know...

All they need is like a 12 game winning streak or something. Hey the Rays did it last year with a much weaker team so why not the Yankees? :p

I don't care in the slightest about the Yankees. It's time they fell off for awhile because I'm sick of seeing them on top. It's someone else's turn for awhile. Getting swept by the Royals is the icing on a shitty midseason cake. That was only the 3rd time in MLB history that the Yankees have been swept by the worst team in a 3-game series. The other two? Once in the 80s, and in 1937 to the Athletics.

Trades midway into the season could either make or break a team. Sometimes it fucks with the team chemistry, but other times, like last year with the Sox, it helps the team greatly. Its a chance the Yankees are probably going to take, seeing how they suck right now.

I'd love to see the Yankees trade away what few prospects they have left, and bring in some more huge contracts. It looks like that strategy is finally catching up with them.

Thought it'd be appropriate to bump this now that the Yankees are leading the AL East again.
