Terrible trade for the Sox. Simply terrible. All they get are two players who can't hit for shit. They didn't need the defensive upgrade that badly. They also gave up Matt Murton, one of their top prospects.

DAMN THEM!!! I just heard about this on the news, the press confrence is on now. I hate this, its the worst possible thing they could do. Besides giving up Nomar they gave up a good prospect, why do they ALWAYS do that? I mean Nomar is one of the best shortstops in the ENTIRE MLB! Forget the Yankees we can pretty much kiss that wildcard goodbye. Usually we(the fans) get screwed during the playoffs or sometimes the last few games for the playoffs, but now getting screwed over 2 months before they even start, thats just wrong. Nomar might say he wanted to stay in Boston but everyone knows that after they tried to screw him nothing would be the same. Like catching your girlfriend cheating on you and then trying to go back to business as usual - it just doesn't work. The only question I have is why didn't Boston at least use Nomar to get someone of equal stature.

Cubs and Redsox have always been by two favorite teams in baseball so nothing suprises me.

yeah, i expected a bad backlash...the only thing i can say about the red sox, is i was always root for them as long as they are playing the yankees. playing anyone else, and i root against.
