As any hockey fan knows, Bertuzzi is being sued by the NHL for a vicious attack on a member of the Colorado Avalanche. Now, do you think he belongs in jail (his maximum penalty) or be let free?
Although the Avs are my favorite team, and Bert probably ended the mans career, I feel that if your going to play hockey, your going to get hurt. Suspend him another year, don't jail him

I'm not sure about jail, but much like Marty McSorley, he should have been kicked out of the league for good. It's no secret that the Canucks are among the dirtiest teams in the league. And as far as I'm concerned, the Canucks head coach, Marc Crawford, should have faced some sort of fine, or suspension from the league, along with Bertuzzi.
Disagree that 'Tuzzi should be banned from the league for good. Suspend him another half season and that should be enough, IMO. The league has got to crack down on this, but one act does not define a hockey player (see the Perezhogin incident in the AHL this year), and much of the damage that was done was not directly from the absolutely reckless punch he threw, but rather the fall to the ice afterwards which may have been at least partially accidental.
Agree that Crawford deserved more disciplinary action as you could tell he didn't do his part to curtail that sort of behavior and passively encouraged it.
I don't think Todd is going to jail but they should give him a community service sentence or something. I also think that Moore should be awarded a good deal of money in his civil suit against Bertuzzi.
Get rid of the instigator penalty and a lot of this crap goes away. Moore would have been dealt with in a honorable manner for his hit on Naslund right then and there in the first game if there was no instigator and none of this would have stewed up into the disaster it turned out to be a few days later when the teams met again.

No jail. I'm of the opinion that he should be kept out of the league for as long as Moore is out.

Quite frankly he's been given a pretty big suspension already, wasn't there another incident that happened a few years ago that ended Jeff Bukaboom's career and he got like 5 games. Giant Hypocrosy if you ask me.
Perazogan (sp?) on the other hand was given enough, he was swinging that stick hard enough that if he hit 2 inches lower the guy he hit might have had his windpipe collapse.

he didn't do anything wrong, hockey's main selling point is it's violence. of course someone every once in awhile is going to get hurt.
