If you have any good similar sites, feel free to post.

Edit: I know most of you know about these sites, but it's best to keep all these great sites together.

I'm sorry, but all of those sites save for liberatedgames are most certainly NOT legal. While they SHOULD be, they are NOT. They allow for the download of games that have NOT been released as freeware, shareware, or public domain. This is the same as ROM's. You may THINK that downloading ROM's of NES games is legal, it may make SENSE that the ROM's of Nintendo games should be legal, but bottom line is THEY ARE NOT.

Abandonware is NOT 100% legal. One of the rules of this sites is to not post things that could get us in trouble, which includes the posting of warez and ROM sites. Abandonware is warez. Oldwarez, but warez nonetheless, no matter how much you and I disagree with that.

Hmmmmm, well, they were posted at G4 and didn't get removed, so I just assumed...

I got GTA 2. It takes a minute to download the whole game and install it.

because there are so few mods at G4 (and half who are there don't really care) they are not going to remove it.

Correct. I should clarify.

I checked most of those sites to see if I could download games that were certainly NOT released in the public domain. I removed the ones that would allow me to download illegal warez. Several companies HAVE released their games into the public domain, and I applaud them for it. I wish more would do that, because abandonware should not be considered warez in my humble opinion.

Sadly, I don't run the world yet.

i personally would allow the abandonware sites(especially home of the underdog), because i seriously doubt you could get into legal trouble just for discussing/linking to them

then again, were in the country that invented the DMCA here...

Amazing game: Out of Order (http://outoforder.adventuredevelopers.com/)

It's a point-and-click adventure. My favorite.
They should put this game in a box and sell it for fifty bucks.
