My car is just about kaputski (trani), and I have been thinking about getting a motorcycle. Gas wouldn't be such a big deal on such a little thing, and I very rarely use any of the extra space in the car anyway.
I rode my friend's bike as a teenager, and wouldn't mind using one as my main transport. But I don't really know much about 'em. I just want a nice inexpensive bike ($2,000 range); that won't rattle my bones apart.
Anybody know much about motorbikes?

You arent gonna find a new bike fr $2000, but you can look on

Now this is the only time anyone will ever hear these words said by me. Look for a Honda. Theyre cheap, and good for this application.

Yeah, I apparently... don't own new stuff. Almost everything I own was gotten second hand in one way or another.
But, thanks for the link; and I'll look at some Hondas.

There's basically 3 different styles. Japanese, American, British. Each relates to a different style of riding a horse.
If you want speed, go with a Japanese, and more of a jokey position on the bike, use upper body to control.
Turning, British is your answer, riding is like riding cross country, use more inner thigh to control.
Laid back is the American stlye, you ride them like a cowboy rides, you use your heels and a leaning motion.
Pick the bike that fits your personality.

Thank you very much West.
That was very concise & informative.
Hmm, sounds like a British bike would be good. But they must not be nearly as common here as the other two; because I can't recollect one maker.
I have ridden American bikes before, and they are very rough. My butt & hands get numb after only a few miles. But I'm told the Japanese bikes are really smooth like that. So I guess that's the way to go here.
Appreciate it,
